Solo Sailing 23ft Trailer Sailer Sunshine Coast to The Whitsundays PART 1

On March 2nd 2024 I set off on a single handed adventure on my 23ft Trailer Sailer 'Summer Wine'. I left Mooloolaba, Sunshine Coast heading North to the Whitsundays, QLD, Australia. I decided to throw together a few of the videos I took to share the journey. Please keep in mind I am no professional behind the camera. A KZreadr by the name of Simon Carter who has done this trip multiple times was a big inspiration and now having completed the trip myself, I take my hat off to him. Part 1 is from Mooloolaba to Hervey Bay.
I have an instagram page with some photos from the trip and I hope to be sharing photos of future trips as well.

I hope you enjoy.

Awesome stuff James, Summer Wine was the boat my dad built, and i grew up on in the 80's/90's, we spent 4 months in the Whitsunday's sailing around back in '88, great memories! Enjoy the trip, we will watch with interest!

@@JessAdsErickson She is a lovely boat and is built very well! Nice to hear some of the history behind her. 4 months would have been amazing. By the time I got up to the Whitsundays I was only able to spend a couple of weeks before needing to head off. I hope to treat Summer Wine to more adventures like this.

That's fantastic James. Who cares about professional video productions? The best thing about people like you and Simon is that you get out there and do it. I'll look forward to seeing more episodes. Cheers, Tony

Why just a gib? You can NEVER get upwind that way. I would NEVER do it that way. You LIMIT yourself. Being prepared is better. Just saying.
