I am giving you my top 20 tips on what to do, bring, and prepare for a solo (or not) road trip! I love solo road trips so I thought I'd share my tips so that you can also go and have fun while being prepared and safe! :-)
It's really helpful to go on a solo road trip prepared. Make sure your car is safe, you have fun things to do, you know where you're going and you aren't forgetting anything! If you're traveling a long distance you want to make sure your car is in good condition and that your tires, oil, windshields, battery and everything else is up to speed. There are helpful things to bring on your trip as well. You might need a towel or a flashlight. It doesn't hurt to have extra water or blankets.
Solo traveling or road tripping should be something anyone can do. I am trying to make it accessible for everyone. Make sure to stretch and stop often if you're tired and also let someone know where you are throughout your trip so that someone will be concerned if they haven't heard from you in a while. You can travel in a small car, a hatchback, or large vehicle like a truck or van. It doesn't matter, just hit the road and go explore! Maybe try sleeping in your car to save money!

Aw I hope you have an AMAZING time!!
One: For non-mechanically minded folks, most mechanics shops will give your car a quick once over for free or for a very small charge. Two: official state trooper advice about sleepiness.... get off the road, consume some caffeine and then take a nap. Caffeine and nap combined is better than one of those alone. Rest areas are for resting... having a quick nap in your car at a rest stop is usually ok. I drive I-81 during the day and never had problems with safety or with state troopers waking me up and telling me to move along. But I only have experience with daytime travel. It is probably different after dark. This year will be my 6th solo road trip from North Carolina to Boston, and I can attest, these are all very good tips. Thanks for making such an awesome video.

Thankyou for this video! I'm in Australia and planning to go for a Great ocean road trip which is about 8hrs from me, staying in different campgrounds by myself is going to be a bit scary. I've always camped with my best friend but I'm in realisation that people change and sometimes not for the better.. I've decided to battle it out on my own as its a dream of mine, I'M SCARED, I have quite an old car too.. I may come back to this comment one day to update 😋 wish me luck 🤞

I still am very anxious and yet very excited. I am planning on my First Road Trip all by myself!. I am someone who has anxiety and ADHD, and just gov my licenses. Where I am planning on to is 4 hours away from me, which isn’t much but still enough to make me nervous and sorta scared to do all on my own. 🥺

Did youmake it? :) My general advise is always have a good rest and start early. Think about it like instead of being at your job, you are enjoying a trip.

its the data-backed tips for me ( @ 7:30). For the car tire one, its also a good idea to lose and then tighten the lug nuts to correct specs. Nothing sucks more than needing to change a wheel and finding out your lug nut is stripped or worn! DX

Hi, Lina. First time visitor here. Thank you for these tips - all good ones! BTW, what do you call those plastic shields above your door windows? I've heard that those really come in handy when you want a cross breeze coming through your car, but also want to protect your car from rain water entering it. Thanks!

I’d say another tip is to download gas apps so you can get discounts
making my 13 hour drive home from college for christmas break tomorrow, its my first time driving over 3 hours and kinda nervous about how it will go
