Great video Corporal! I think you've outdone yourself this time with the Ribeye, bacon and stuffed mushrooms. My mouth was watering. I've been searching for years for the Holy Grail lightweight backpacking tent. I'm liking the River Country tent you got there. At least it's green. I almost gave up on looking, all the ultralight tents are either very expensive and also some obnoxious "Telletubby" colors like orange, red, blue and yellow. I like to blend in with the woods.

I think that shelter is just the ticket. Quick, easy, light. Just about any tent, tarp, shelter, or whatever is gonna come with crap stakes. I wind up using them to hold down my anti-deer netting over my shrubs in the winter. I swear I'm gonna do a ribeye in bacon grease next summer back in my woods. The mushrooms were the real kicker. I'll even add a couple eggs in that grease. I just had breakfast before watching this and got hungry all over again. Good show Corp!

Trees in the Eastern woodlands make setting up camp MUCH easier. When I camped in the Sierras, trees were abundant too. On Okinawa, a free-standing tent was very handy. Some areas of Canada have more trees than others. Being a native to Michigan, my preference is trees, but I’m adaptable. Courtesy of Half Vast Flying

Car camping has been Much easier for most families for nearly 100 years. I know because Ive been doing it for most of those years (73). It was easier for my working parents to stuff us three kids and themselves into the car with the tent, go as far as the logging roads would take us near a stream, and the boys had fishing while mom and I hunted rocks, built dams, and enjoyed ourselves. Later I did the same until my son discovered the Military Boy Scouts and decided I was too wimpy. Shortly I discovered a group that liked to camp and cook over open fires and recreate history. Grandchildren came and once again it’s throw them in the back of the car with a trunk full of stuff.

was watching you fry bacon and thought he needs tongs then no they would take up space in the pack that lead to chopsticks and you could make them from branches.

damn, your opening shot of the coming meal is killing me. Just got in from walking the dogs in the woods and fields in the dark for about an hour or more, NOW I AM HUNGRY! Great video!

Great video as always thank you! Speedy sharps are great, and also a redundancy. Sharpener and the ultimate ferro rod striker. I've never been able to sharpen with them to the same level as Brad Buckner does, but they work wonders on my pruners, shovels and hoes. Nothing better for yard tools! Just my two cents on the straight stakes...put some shockcord on the stakes. Attach the shockcord through the loops on the tarp / tent, not the stake itself. This prevents many problems. Securing a guy line via this method is indispensable in moderate to high winds as it is much more forgiving. Love the overnighters!

I have had the trekker 1 for a couple of months now. And have used it extensively. Not the best tent l have had, but does the job. And come on now, under 50 bucks! Have had no leaks. Out standing !! Jim

I also own that tent. Really wanted to like it, although I have respect for the company, mine leaked in the corners in the rain.

@Datalore740 yes as much as I could. The corners have thread holes big enough to see daylight, I tried to seal them up, but apparently didnt work well enough.
