I’m a woman who’s always wanted to go camping, but I never had anyone to do it with, and I don’t feel safe doing it on my own. Now I’m 60 with health problems, and feel very wistful as I watch these excellent videos and learn basic bushcraft. Young people, I urge you to get out there, have fun and learn these skills!

Thanks Kelly. I am 84 and for all practical purposes, immobile. Camping and woodsy days long behind. I have enjoyed your experiences more than the other bushcrafter / survivalists. You bring back better days for me.

Considering the condition of the world currently, I have been brushing up on my skills. Sadly as a teen, went ultra light camping thirty years before it became a thing. In Australia we call it a "swag", but as a general rule they are made with a heavier material like canvas and are not generally use for hiking, moreso camping by 4wd. The type of snugpack you are testing is called a bedroll designed for lightweight hiking situations. Love the video and the ongoing education. Keep it up and know that there are plenty of viewers that appreciate your videos.

I like the way you explain the fire safety. People seem to be so quick to judge or say be careful with fires! It’s like, well Obviously he’s going to be careful...🙄

Whatever else people think of Corporal Kelly, please understand that this guy knows what he's doing out in the woods. He is the last one to worry about bumbling around with fire in an explosively dry environment. Actually, that might make a good theme for a CC adventure. How do you camp when it's too dry and windy for a fire? Make sandwiches? Are there packaged meals that heat themselves up with chemicals? Can you cook with a battery or a solar cooker? Can you purify water with solar?

Omg, I love the idea of using your pot as an oven and putting your rack inside. Love the sandwich idea to!!!

It's always fun to watch your tips and tricks...I have a large Appalachian framed back pack full of old survival gear. I'd like to get an ocean kayak as it's ability to store gear in 2 compartments. (A dolly is used for portaging also foldable to put inside boat). Great for exploring rivers. Once, I heard Cody from 'Dual Surviver' say that the Native Americans consider large bon fires as "White Man Fire". Even though I'm an Irish, French, German, English, white guy. This always stuck in my mind as excessive titan fires are unnecessary. Yet, in safe areas, I always tend to break my own rules on that for warmth. I like your char punk wood. That is a new one for me. Traps and snares are a must to know. "FIRE, WATER SHELTER FOOD" A salute to ya'. BLUE DAVE.

It's February right now and is 12F outside so watching this video and hearing the birds and seeing the pawpaw saplings makes me really look forward to Spring. I'm stage 4 cancer but I feel strong enough now to plan some camping trips to my uncle's 140 acre property in northern PA this year. All your videos give me a wonderful escape and I truly appreciate all your hard work.

Dude I love my ionosphere!!!! Had it up in 70mph gusts and it help up great. It’s never leaked in rain and it works great as a bug bivvy to use with a tarp. I don’t usually feel I can give advice or share gear recommendations but I think that tent is outstanding. I got mine coyote but that’s because I’m in a more arid climate and green might as well be yellow here. Great video, great tips, and good food 🍻

Have a snugpak cave tent for camping with my family. I absolutely love it. First time I've spend a bit more for a tent, and not just got a Coleman. Can't recommend Snugpak enough.

Always drop back and watch an old video or two. Learning your local resources, then how to utilize them is always one of the most important things you can do during non-survival camp trips. That way if it becomes a survival mode you know what's there. Also love the possum mentality of making your char just in case.
