Solo Moto Camp - Point Sublime, Grand Canyon - North Kaibab Forest/Lower Desert, Arizona

This is not your average Grand Canyon viewpoint.
Getting to Point Sublime can be a challenge in a truck so how about a motorcycle?
I finally got the green light for this ride, I had been putting it off for the last few weeks due to some variable or another.
I chose my DR650 for the platform to handle this task and once I was deep out there I kind of wished I had brought my 300L. The deeper the bush, the lighter the bike. You go deep on this ride.
It's a guess really, trying to figure out if the roads to Point Sublime will be open. I generally go out later in the season so fallen trees have usually been taken care of but having a tree come down blocking the road(s) once you're already out there is a distinct reality.
I decided to take FR (Forest Road) 268 & 268B to get out to Sublime. There are other routes but I think the one I took is the least gnarly and I got lucky, a third of the road was being bulldozed so a Fire Crew could get machinery back there.
The views from Point Sublime are just that...Sublime! You can camp there, permit is required since you are in the National Park. More than likely you will have it to yourself, there's only a few camp sites available so crowds aren't a concern.
If you attempt this ride, be prepared for self rescue. Anything can happen at anytime, especially out there.

Awesome footage there. Getting cold on a motorcycle is no joke, temperature control is really hard and either way will sap your energy.

@precipiceofgrind I know the feeling, there have been a few times that I suddenly got really cold and wished I had stopped earlier.
Iam in Pittsburgh..the grand canyon is top 3 on my bucket list, i really envy fact you can drive there in couple hours, but seriously i would love to ride through the redwood forest in commiefornia and see the grand canyon!!
Camped there solo in my 4Runner in 2018. It was so isolated. Three are only 2 spots to camp and both are permit required, its amazing.

Awesome ride. Have you thought about or do you use a steering damper? Would it help any or be counter productive? I ask because I have a DR.
Don't understand why you didn't let some air out.

Very rocky and bike had lots of extra weight on it, didn't want to risk a pinch flat.
