Solo Logging Douglas Fir Logs for Woodmizer LT15 Sawmill
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Having fun in the woods with the tractor, chainsaw, and the sawmill. Cutting down a dead, Douglas fir tree. Yarding it with my farming, 501 winch on Massey Ferguson MF30 MF3 tractor. carrying them with the bog fork to my Woodmizer LT15 sawmill. But first we will see if the tractor will start after putting the starter in. I just had it rebuilt.

Now this is a man that works smarter.... not harder...but he's still a hard worker.
Love seeing your property. I hope I can come by something similar and enjoy some hobby logging. Thanks for sharing

Thanks for watching and commenting. Hopefully you can find something, it’s good to have land.
Your videos are always entertaining. Thanks for allowing us to follow along in your adventures. When I first started logging as a young man, I was told that the safest place was at the stump. Now I see guys jack rabbit down thru the woods. It all depends on the tree. (and always look up)

Thanks, I always appreciate your comments. In normal situations, I like to at least stick close to the stump until the tree breaks from the hinge and the tree is committed to it’s direction of fall.
Dangit the ending made me throw a temper tantrum lol I don't want to wait lol....cheers

I can only imagine a Grizz throwing a temper tantrum. 😂 The wait is almost over. The rest comes out in the morning.
Hey great job on felling that one. I can’t believe you found a place to rebuild a starter. There was only one place left around here about 10 years ago that finally closed its doors. Nobody wants to wait 5 min on anything and nobody wants to work. I grew up rebuilding starters, alternators, master cylinders You name it were rebuilt it. Times have changed. Yea that butt log looks in bad shape. Ok now we will continue 😂😂

This electrical shop has been around since the 50’s. They were great to do business with. I was glad to be able to take my starter in to a small business instead of buying a new or rebuilt one. Thanks for watching and commenting.
I first ran a chain saw with my Grandpaw when I was 10. Now, at 70, I've started wearing chaps and head gear. Should have been doing so all along. Good to see someone way smarter than I have been.

I may not be that smart either. It took me a while and a close call to start wearing a hardhat.
Given the awesome intro have you given any thought to writing time travel science fiction. You had my paradoxes spinning. Thanks, and good to see the front tires aired up.

Actually I have never thought about it. Maybe I should also consider being an illusionist because I still haven’t filled the front tires. Spinning paradoxes and illusions.

@@WilsonForestLands Indeed, my head is spinning. I really thought you had added air. Not hot air, just pressurized air.
This was an awesome video. Thanks for taking the time to make it for us!

I think that your video director/producer needs to be reprimanded over the microphone snaffu. 🤣 Another great video 👍

Yeah these snaffus are getting to be too often. I may have to send him packing. Thanks Scooter.
You sure have your property looking good. More folks need to keep up with their land like that here in Southern Oregon. You'd think the Obenchain and Almeda fires would get more people on the ball about fuel reduction on their land. Hundreds of homes lost in those fires, let alone all the woods that got burned up. The "canyon" from Jacksonville up past the lake is one of the very scary places here, from a people living in wildfire fuel perspective! Yikes! 🔥

Yeah it would be great to see the rest of the area like this property. I almost have this place to where I would welcome a fire, in non extreme conditions. Gold Hill is another city I have concerns about.

@@WilsonForestLands Yes, Gold Hill and probably Rogue River too.
Very enjoyable video. Word of advice; if you don't mention the screw-ups they never happened. I should know. Dave

Good humour and a great video as always. I have a question : do You have someone with You while working in the forest or You work alone?Except Your sound guy, offcourse...
@WilsonForestLands

No I don’t have anyone else working here. I don’t do enough to justify hiring anyone. Except for the goofy sound guy of course.

@@WilsonForestLands Isn`t it dangerous ? Don`t get me wrong , i too work alone most of the time, but there`s an ongoing debate regarding should a guy work alone in the forest or not - is it safe or not. Your thoughts on the subject ?

@@DeadWoodLogging6996 I have heard people say most accident in the woods happen with multiple people, one does something that causes the other to get hurt. I don't know the answer, which is more dangerous. I am doing this on such a small scale and not all the time. My reasoning for working alone is I don't have anyone to work with. And I enjoy going out to my woods and working by myself. The danger of not having someone there if I get into trouble is an unfortunate reality.

Your voice overs are good though too. Can't you just go back and do those?

I have a hard time with voice overs sounding natural. I could do that but this way seemed more fun.
