Senegalese kora player, Solo Cissokho, and Lithuanian kanklės player, Indrė Jurgelevičiūtė, meet each other for their first duo recording. This is the first time these two instruments have been recorded together. It’s a fascinating meeting of traditional music cultures and sounds.
Senegalese musician Solo Cissokho plays kora, a string instrument from West Africa, and performs vocal parts. He is a griot - a special performer, storyteller and praise singer who transmits his African heritage through music. Indrė Jurgelevičiūtė is a Lithuanian singer and kanklės (Baltic psaltery) player. She combines her native music roots with improvisations in different styles, taking the traditional kanklės sound in new directions.

When we lived in Bali, I used to play this record to calm my then three-year-old son when he was upset, and then we'd play a game of hunting round the house trying to find where the voices were coming from, the sound of this singing always makes me smile remembering how he would cry with laughter.

So much memory on this music, both in senegal and Lithuania! This also was the music on which I walk with my mom on the way to marry my wife. so smoothing and make you feel inner peace!

music like these can be doors to other universes much more kind and real than those promised by science and its fantastic technologies, closer and possible and also much much more economical.
On the verge of tears overcome by the beauty of this music. The raucous horror of my day and of life in the modern city fades and yields to the ineffable grace of this artistry.
