Solo Hiking Remote Tasmania - South Coast Track
After 8 days hiking the Western Arthurs and Port Davey Track, I finally made it to the coast. The South Coast Track would complete my Tasmanian adventure and I had been looking forward to it for a long time. It was beautiful, challenging and one I won't forget anytime soon.
🥾Thanks to Pushys for gearing me up for this trek. Check out www.pushys.com.au to grab some quality gear for your next hiking or camping trip.

Happy New Year! Thanks for following along my Tasmanian adventures! Plenty more coming in 2023.🔥
My dads Tasmanian and we sat and watched your video last night in awe of your feat, really enjoying the stunning and rugged scenery and your narration. Thanks very much, keep hiking and never stop exploring!
Awesome series man 🙏 My first multi day hike was in Tasmania on my own. Was certainly a wild time. You've definitely inspired me to head back there it's such a beautiful part of Australia

Thanks for the kind words. I’m pretty keen to head back as well!
Awesome videos mate, I've just watched the 3 that make up your trip to Tasmanian, well done! You keep up a decent pace 💪👍
Awesome video Cam! Can't believe you did it in 3 days!! Did the track a few years ago - barely managed to do it in 6 days. Also, the going down on the Iron Bound Range was tough (physically and mentally) But the whole trip was definitely worth it:)
Love it and Tasmania is so scenic
What an amazing hike!! Loved the waterfalls!! I love hikes that have a large variety of scenery like the ocean, mountain views, streams, and forest.
Loved this ❤
Awesome work mate, thanks for taking us along!

A great video, you bring a positive attitude Cam thankyou. We are going on the walk in a month. Getting excited after watching your vid!!
Loved that video Cam. Most people take 6 days so about 14km/day. Over 3800m of elevation - you have very well trained legs to walk so many hours per day and recover overnight to go again … So your training, nutrition and sleep must be optimal. Honed through experience! I loved the look of that track. Missed having full subtitles but could still pick up most of what you’re saying with a good clear voice and facing the viewers. What a great life you have! Does your wife accompany you at times? Sorry about the essay 😏 No need to reply

Thanks for the comment! I’ve done a lot of hiking so legs are feeling strong at the moment. Wifey sometimes comes along on shorter hikes. She hasn’t done more than a couple days… yet😆
This is so beautiful and thank you for showing us the beautiful coast of Tasmania .

Wow that was a fast walk! We are hoping to do this track in Feb (definitely not in three days though 😅) so thanks for taking us along! Now I know to leave enough energy in the body for that boat crossing haha, cheers!

It’s surprisingly tiring haha. Will be easier with multiple people though. Enjoy!
haha i wonder how many people take the boat back across but forget to take a set of oars. looks like there were loads on one side but only one set on the other
Great videos mate, I got lost after surprise bay camp too mate.. prob went the same way as me!

Hey mate love the video, are you gonna do the Tassie Trail?
Thanks for curing any desire I may have had to do the Port Davie track. Way to much mud for me.
@CamBostock

Yeah if you don’t like mud it isn’t the trail for you 😂
Thanks for the videos. I see that you had a food drop organised for the South Coast track. What was the weight of your food for the first 2 sections of your walk or did you do a food drop somewhere. Also wondering how much gas you went through? Cheers
Amazing work mate! Did you consider doing the Penguin to Cradle track while you were in Tassie?

About 220km all up 👍
hey, give us some details on your initial pack weight, gear etc. You pack looks a lot smaller than my 58L Osprey Exos.

Any chance you could cover what sort of packaged foods you take hiking?

Heading to Tassie on the 29/1 solo traveller as well. I'm keen to go on a traverse with you please let me know if it's possible and we'll make the details.
Why you think they don't have a pulley system to winch the boats back to the original side rather than rowing three times?
@CamBostock
Жыл бұрын
It’s a pretty long distance, not sure that would work.
Great video, but it looks like you didn't take oars and life vests with you back across New River.

Now that you mention it, I didn’t!! Oops. I do remember there being plenty on both sides so hopefully no issues.

@@CamBostock that’s a relief. A few years ago my partner and two friends ran the Port Davey and South Coast Track in a couple of days. She still curses whoever it was took all the oars across to the far side, they hadn’t slept in 36 hours. After about three hours they found a plastic bucket to improvise as a paddle, type 2 fun.
@CamBostock

@@chrisedie2307 Jeeze that's brutal! It made for a bloody good story at least. Yeah, there was definitely still a couple sets of oars left!
Hi there! Amazing adventures, videos and channel. Congrats! Would it be ok if you share which pack you used for this particular trip? (brand, type, and size in liters). It looks so awesomely small and light!!! I don't know if you have any videos on gear. I'm wanting to change all my gear to lighter. My pack is insanely comfortable but it weighs 2.700kgs which is way too much!!! (deuter 60-70L) Would love to do the SCT with 17kgs max . I know it might be unrealistic for a 7 to 8-day track... (no way I can do 30+ km a day and make it in 3 days like you!!!!!) But it would be so good to hike lighter in general, hoping the pack is also durable and comfortable. Can you comment on that too? Is yours durable, comfortable and light? Thanks a million and keep up exploring!
@CamBostock
