SOLO FEMALE VAN LIFE BEGINS | my first night alone
This week I faced my fears by starting officially starting Solo Female Van Life. I backed into my first camping spot, filled the water tank by myself, cleaned the toilet, and slept by myself for the first time in ONE YEAR.

Hitting the road for the first time, despite having lived in the van for an entire year already, was a bit scary, exciting, and everything in between. For my first night alone, I prepped and practiced a few of the van chores before leaving so I would feel more confident and left a BIG ONE (the toilet cleaning) for my first day by myself. You all get to come along with this journey and I have to say I felt supported knowing that YOU are on the other side of the screen.
I trust that my experiences will help YOU get over the fear of living in a van by yourself. If you want to make it happen, you can do it too!

I trust this video will help all of you see that even though you may have fears about starting solo van life, you can do it too! Happy Sunday Everyone ✌️

@@GODISMYSTERIOUS sorry to hear this. Please know we do not support this kind of behavior.
Please, please NEVER plug electrical into campsite pedestal before connecting the van side. This could be very dangerous as you may unknowingly be carrying a live wire from the pedestal. Also, highly recommend using a surge guard. Many have ‘fried’ their house electronics by not doing so. I am only trying to help you be safe. As a single female traveler, I have learned many lessons the hard way. Keep going, you will love your adventures
You go girl! Great job✋🏽
I'm so glad you're figuring out that you ARE capable and self sufficient! I hope you had a great time at Descend!
Good job on pushing yourself!!

Thank you! The support of this community fueled my journeys this week :)
New fan here! How awesome!!!! You did great!
Let's go, you are not alone. You're taking us with you on this trip. Can't wait to see what you are up to
Stay safe and let us know how you’re doing, periodically. You’ve got this!!!
Really proud of you! Anxiety is real and you did an amazing job; backing up in something so big is definitely scary. While I hope everything is going well on Brian's end, I'm excited to see you experience all these new and scary things on your own with (temporary) solo van life 😊❤
Proving things to yourself is always so empowering. You can do this! Perhaps you can put your writing skills to work and write an owner's manual for YOUR van. Things like how to do water fill-ups, how to do electrical hookups, how to empty your grey water; all the stuff that makes YOUR van work for you. Perhaps illustrate it using your photography skills. Enjoy my dear, you are more capable than you think.
You go girl. You’ve got this. Loved watching you conquer your fears
So cool you are doing this on your own to instill that confidence we all try to attain! Food for thought do y’all have a surge protector, if not you might want to check into it, good luck soloing!
Just discovered your channel. I remember the very first time I towed my 20-foot rv with my full size van. I walked past it all winter thinking it was huge, ha ha, and when the day came it was raining and I was so scared. Then I got into major traffic with orange cones to navigate around. Then my friend who was supposed to be leading in front to check I was doing okay decided to take off as I wouldn't go faster than 55 on the back roads so I ended up driving through Austin, Tx during rush hour white knuckled. Eventually I came to love the freedom and independence, but wanted you to know that everything you went through is real. You did a great job. found a wonderful spot and clearly had a good time on your own. I'll look out for more videos on this channel and just subscribed!.

I do enjoy your channel, especially how authentic you both are. I’m looking forward to living vicariously (and learning) through your solo travels.
You go girl...Really happy for you and all your accomplishments...Keep up on what you’re doing...From what I’ve seen you do on your own, let the sky be the limit...I subscribed to your link, can’t wait to see more videos...God Bless...

Well done on your first video out and about alone.. It takes guts to stretch and you did it with a smile.. well done.
Safe travels! Love following along on your journey.
For camping, yes use IOverlander, however if you didn’t know Cracker Barrel’s are open for RVs and Vanlifers to sleep overnight. If you are still in WA there are non there but Oregon has them. In Washington 24 hour Planet Fitness is our favorite. We are about to leave Washington now, and we did all planet fitness out time here.
Great job backing up! I avoid backing into parking spaces and parallel parking at all costs!
Congratulations! Wishing you a safe and fun journey!
Good job! I went through all those feelings too (11 years ago!) You won’t believe how fast it will become second nature. Now I’m sharing van life w my husband of 8 years. I taught him everything!🤣

Good for you!!!! I feel so inspired!
Thanks for sharing! I'll be a solo female vanlifer hopefully in a few months, I need more of this!
You are such an inspiration for me. I am going to be in your same situation when I hit the road next month. I am scared, intimidated, excited and totally ready for the adventure. Give it a months and you'll be very comfortable with your whole situation

That would be funny. But no they have no interest. 😆
You're doing a great job, it's really nerve racking doing it by yourself. I tow a caravan by myself and have done for seven years now. When I first started several times things were so scary, parking, very narrow roads etc that my knees would shake. You're right you just need to face your fears or else you end up by doing nothing. Stay safe, love from the UK x
Your lifestyle is ALL I dreaming on in my life, hopelly I can get ❤ from preaty women like you & bought me to vanlife world journey
😁 YAY! So proud of you! Fabulous job!!!😁
Congrats to doing it by yourself. Have fun
Catching up with your adventure. Woop go you 🙌
Good for you!!
Woohoo!!! Good on ya darlin!! #shepower 💪💪✌️❤️🌞
Good job..well done! Love your reversing skills 😁I love your view on growth opportunities 🥂 love from Australia 🇦🇺 xx
New sub. My dog races back and forth super fast every single time I come home as well. I'm too stressed to back in myself. I can relate. I subbed because you're funny and I like your personality. Thanks for showing how a compost toilet works. No one ever has. I decided to live alone years ago and I love it!
Congratulations on facing your growing experiences! You rock!

I love it that you're venturing out and showing us what you need to do. I knew you could do it. Radar knows he belongs with you though. That's why he was running around trying to tell you in dog language. Venturing out for the first time as a single female I sure as heck would be taking my German Shepherd! Just saying!! Plus he's Company too!💗p.s. how heavy is that toilet after you put the water in? A lot of others I watch they don't have to take the toilet outside to clean.. so I'm really confused about that 😆
m so happy for you that you could do it all on your own. Positive Vibes for you. I'm glad I stumbled upon your site.

Been thinking about van life. Starting to make a list of things I wan o build into a van. What concerns me and few people cover is expenses and living that way. Determining how much one really needs monthly to make that life work.
@vanhallaadventures
2 жыл бұрын
Hey Rob! These are all really important questions to ask yourself. I think the cost monthly varies GREATLY. We did a video on our monthly expenses you can watch HERE: kzread.info/dash/bejne/nn57sMuTqNa0oag.html BUT I would do this too: Write down how much your fixed expenses are that will NOT change when you get a van. Credit cards, etc. If you are going to travel a lot, I would budget out about 2-3x what you spend on fuel already. We budget $300-$500 a month on gas alone in case we want to travel a lot. Your food can be more or less than what you spend dependent on whether or not you like to go out to eat. We have found that our food bill is actually higher because 1) food goes bad faster 2) we like to try out new places while we travel 3) it can be easier to eat out than make a meal and have to clean up your van and put everything back if you are in a rush. You also have to budget for more oil changes/repairs. Also, are you going to have storage unit? account for that. AND have money aside in case you HAVE to get a campsite because some cities will kick you out for sleeping in a van and you might be too tired to drive if it is late. Would it be helpful if we did a video about our average monthly expenses after living in a van for a year? I think we have a better idea of the cost now but like I said, everyone is different.
👍👍👍

What is herbal coffee, plus do you keep the liquid from the tea you made. Do you just strain it?
@vanhallaadventures
2 жыл бұрын
I make it myself. I will be putting out a video on it. It's a mix of several different herbs that support energy levels without the jitters you get from coffee. I like to add mushrooms in it sometimes too. I strain out all the herbs then drink the mix :) Sometimes I add in some warmed non-dairy milk and some sweetener to make it like a latte :)
