I wish i would of seen this earlier..i watched this video when it was posted and have searched for a similar bornfree with a chevy motor for the last 2 years...i guess she never posted it on rv trader or a born free sight😢😢😢😢. If who ever bought it wants to sell it please list on a born free facebook or rv trader

I drove a 35 foot RV pulling a full size car for several years alone. I was 60 years old when I started after my husband passed away soon after he retired. That was 20 years ago.

This woman is all over it. Very impressive.

I love the way the dog is just sitting there staring out the window. This is great living. I can't imagine nomad life in anything smaller. She's done a great job on this vehicle.

Kathy, that was the best ride I’ve seen for a single person to go traveling in! I love ❤️ it! Be safe and enjoy your trip!

a day before I pick up my rig to go full time rving I find out my travel partner is not coming along. So - this was a God-send! Kathy's positive fearless attitude is helping me get through this night when I want to cancel all my plans. I used to be fearless but life often shakes us up enough where we need to rebuild our threshold for adventure. HOpe we meet on the road someday!

Yes Kathy you should start your adventures on KZread include you dog. I own a home and Iam in process of selling it as Iam trying to figure out which system I should buy. Iam 60yo and not sure how much traveling I want to do. Your BORN Free home looks very nice. I first thought abought a Nissan cargo van or cargo trailer, but so many rules about where you can stay?? I see women travel by themselves it looks like fun. Born Free looks like it would be good for WA state winters, but Scottsdale, AZ would be nicer for October to May then go to WA for June to September. I live I WA state 2000 to 2001 we had lots of Rain & wind!! I think western WA is pretty, eastern WA more desert like but winters are very cold. Coldest winters are in Nebraska Iowa & Minnesota, so I would say western WA winters are not as cold as midwest winters.

One of the best tips I ever heard for a solo female is to carry a pair of large workman's boots and leave them outside the door at night

I used to do this when I was single. Got a couple of men’s shoes for a few dollars at Goodwill resale store. It helps for when you have handymen or internet company male technicians come to the house.

Loved this!! Beautiful RV and lovely Kathy! I do want to add my thoughts about #2 in the toilet ... gah ... alert ... more about toilet issues than you might want to know! Anyway, I have lived and travelled in my 33 foot Winnebago Adventurer ... 8 months plus full time as well as a lot of 3-4 month, and assorted travels over 16 years. So ... poop does not remain solid if there is plenty of water :) ... and if you routinely dump black and then gray, the gray cleans the hose. I have never had an issue with a smelly hose ... really! And actually, the gray water smells worse than the black. One thing I do, is I do not put tp or anything other than what exits my body into the tank. I have a flip lid waste can, but after adding a bidet attachment to my home toilet, I thought ... huh, I could use the toilet cleaning thing to have bidet in the motorhome ... wash, don't wipe and you will never go back. There ... much, much more than you wanted to know, probably.

I totally enjoyed this video. I love seeing solo females in my age range living their best lives on their terms.

Kathy looks so much like my late Mom! And she has her personality to boot, weird and heartwarming all at the same time. Wonderful lady! If she had her own KZread channel, I would definitely follow her adventures!

I'm impressed how this lady is so organized and clean! She doesn't like to use the inside shower to not make it dirty! Very nice RV!

Why don't we all just live in one of those!? Who needs a giant house. That thing has absolutely everything I would need to be happy.

When I was on the road I traveled with a dog. He was quite able to defend our small space.

Having a Walmart map book is a life saver, because it lists every one in North America so we set our next destination as a go too if needed, a great stress reliever !

@@AmberJBaldwin I agree 110%, if we all could have had a crystal ball. Everyone including me complains about the high prices of a new campers. There's Born Frees, Scamps, Casida's, Air Streams just to name a few that are being sold 20 years later that at the time seemed over priced for more then then they sold for new just because the roof did not leak and destroy the trailer. Look on Craigslist there's trailers 10 years old being sold as scrap just because of roof leaks.

Only 3 minutes into the video and I already love Kathy! I love that she refuses to live in fear...and that she won't share what precautions and safeties she's got in place (I always shake my head when I watch videos and people say on camera what they have in place). Ok, going to watch the rest of the vlog now ☺

How old young are you ladies if you don't mind me asking.

Our first motorhome was a Born Free 24ft Rear Bath. Loved it!! We actually used our bathroom, both for showering and . . . well, you know. Did several years of research before buying it. The build quality and safety features were the deciding points. The founder of Born Free, John Dodgen, and his wife actually rolled their Born Free down an embankment while on a night trip. They were standing by the roadside when the emergency vehicles arrived. Totalled the Born Free, but they were saved by the roll bars. It's so sad that Born Free is no longer in business. :-(

@@ellfling924 Have you seen a NASCAR or Formula 1 racecar? They have metal structural bars that surround the drivers to protect them from being crushed in a rollover. That's why they're called roll bars.

Cathy is Great and I absolutely Love her RV! We sold our junk 5th wheel 35TMS Grand Junction because my husband was sick and tired of fixing/working on it…and we bought it new…what junkie manufacturing! We won’t buy another because of the shotty workmanship and cheap suspension they put on. If you are blowing tires and aren’t overloaded, check the suspension. New subscriber… I absolutely loved your interview with Cathy!!!`

I love how the dog goes directly to the copilot seat when she is inside, that's her spot.

Really liked how the cover for the stove was stored. Wish I had something like that for my sink covers in my motor home.

I think she's extremely smart keeping her house. Not sure about renting house out though. I wouldnt be comfortable with that. But i think keeping a place in case is a great idea. I do like her idea of traveling for just a year or 10 mths and seeing what you want to see. Thats a good idea. I like the original build and what she's done. If i had one id love the bed to be at the very back and to have maybe 2 more chairs where her bed is. But i do kind of love it.

GREAT IDEA TO RENT HER HOUSE OUT FOR THE YEAR! Instead of just selling it all, she chose a great option! Just in case she HAS to come back to her home, or even if she just WANTS to come home, she can! Love the rig! Smart lady & adorable companion:)

NICE interview 👌👍 a nice way to travel BORN FREE like the movie about Elsa the lioness. It's perfect for a woman & a dog. I think it takes courage to travel by yourself even with a cute dog! I enjoyed watching this and BORN Free motor homes are expensive and none of them look the same. I like the back door instead of the passenger side door the best.

Kennedy C LOL .... I know right!? I used to have one when I went to college. Those huge bag phones were just coming out then. That was 1989. My handle was "Red Racer" because I had a red Honda CRX with a major lead foot! lol

@@AmberJBaldwin LOL! When I was about 14 my parents had a CB radio on one of their trucks and when we would go camping or on road trips, my Moniker was sunshine girl! That was so much fun! Miss those old days!

@@AmberJBaldwin Amber, I think you need to include that story in a future video. My dad had a CB in his car when I was growing up. I would use it under the handle "Grape Ape" because I liked the cartoon show.

She's so cool, I want to be like her when I grow up. Love the mobile home too.

What a wonderful lady. I love her RV and could totally see myself living in one of these with my fur baby. I really love the lay out and the door at the back makes so much sense now. Love all of her storage and how she changed the couch to a permanent bed with yet more storage. Most of all I love the craft cabinet. Thank you Kathy for stalking Amber down and showing us around. I think I have truly found the RV that I want now. ☺♥

Same here!!! I have to research n study n over again but I did have a friend that when she had researched something, I knew I could take it to the bank n never look up anything myself n one of the few ppl I really trusted like that!!! Cathy reminds me of her!! Sure do miss her, some days more than others…. Plus we were young mothers together, girls same grade, boys couple years difference but we did so much together, what I wouldn’t give to go back to my kids little n that time!!! Best times of my life, you just don’t know it when it’s happening n ur all haggered! Lol But, forward on n making more memories!!

Great video! Kathy's rig is awesome! You would never guess it's 12 ya old. Amazing condition.

Just do it! I totally love that she encouraged people to just grab a tent and go try camping. At the end of the day the point is to explore the enjoyment of camping. Being comfortable as you make your adventures is wonderful as well, but the point is just get out there and do it! I love it! Going to see if I have an adventurous girlfriend that will rent a cabin with me and just try it. See you at the fire!

Been doing this for a long time. Kathy is perhaps the most articulate, knowledgeable, confident, realistic people I've ever seen.

May 2021 This home looks cozy and practical!!! You two would probably enjoy talking with 'My Basic Journey.' She might have good tips about good places to stay with a dog. She started from the West Coast area and has to be careful about her health. G'Day
