Solo Algonquin Park cedar strip canoe camp Oct 2023

Although the camera malfunctioned and had no audio, I finally decided to put it together as a film anyway. I find as a film and record of the trip it turned out good enough to share.
I hope you enjoy the video.
Next week I will be starting an in-studio series of sketches made from photos taken on past trips.
Hope you can join me for those upcoming videos.
Thanks for watching.

    Beautiful video James. I too enjoy the heat my little twig stove puts out, processing and feeding the firewood to keep it going is very rewarding in a simple kind of way. Looking forward to your drawing videos.

    Terrific video 👍I love the details you film, there is a Woodpecker tree in the woods behind my cottage here in Wales, just like the one in your film. I look forward to your sketch videos.

    I always enjoy your videos Mr. Carey. So peaceful. I’ve been going to Algonquin for well over 50 years and still love it. I made a cash box stove like you’ve shown in other videos. My favorite now. Thank you. What area in Algonquin was this.

    This is Kiosk going up Amable du Fond. Could have done with the cash box stove on this trip but it was hard enough to find wood even for the little stove, as everything was very wet. Yes, Algonquin will always be a favourite place to go for me as well, but I can’t handle the longer portages as well as I used to.

    Your videos are relaxing to watch James. I have a canoe strong back and plans to build a 16’ cedar canoe, just not the time to start it yet. Do you know its weight?

  • @jamescarey7277

    @jamescarey7277

    7 ай бұрын

    Not sure of the weight, it is a 15 foot cedar strip. I built this size to be able to handle as I grew older, and so far it’s been great. Relaxing is why I do the trips so I’m glad that translates into the film.
