    @@GreenString in regards to the actual filming, the soundtrack was great, the commentary was great and informative, and it wasn’t bladdering to fill the sound of silence. The 360 views you show of campsites was great, as its obviously a beautiful area. Essentially it’s a virtual tour of amazing spots I probably won’t see. You’ve hit the spot with a formula of depicting a great adventure! I too have a T7, and having grown up in Cyprus, and Egypt, with many English friends, I enjoy the British humor and adventures.

  • @GreenString

    @GreenString

    9 ай бұрын

    @philhagoes9339 That’s good to hear. I know the British “humour” is not to everyone’s taste. Im loving my T7. It is way more capable than I thought and it exceeded my expectations especially coming from a big mobile sofa like a GS. I’m still very conscious about my off road limitations when riding alone and that drove a-lot of my decision making in the next video as I was fairly remote in Finland. I guess it’s always a balance of risk versus reward.

    I haven’t aged well, I’m only 23🤣!Yeah I know what you mean but on a trip like this you either sacrifice distance to focus on one particular place or skip through countries . I usually do the latter. Time is always against me. This naturally means I rarely get the chance to properly explore and discover a country but I do get a flavour of that country and I was mighty impressed with Latvia. I now know I must return which is good. It’s all about ticking off the old bucket list so yes, Latvia I will be back…probably when I retire. Stay safe my friend. Cheers mate. I was surprisingly easier than I thought to go it alone. Even though in reality all I’m doing is riding my bike from point A to point B, I was constantly mulling over in my mind where I would stay, when to fill up or push on, provisions…etc etc and I guess video documenting it takes up quite a bit of time, so at no point did I feel exposed or lonely. Actually that’s a lie. There was one night in Sweden (in the next video) where I camped in the woods and I was crapping myself🤣 I was convinced somebody was stood outside my tent (Texas Chain Saw Massacre). When the morning came I was happy to push on! The biggest hindrance was riding off road. I was conscious that if I messed up I was in some pretty remote places (next video). Still I would do it again and it’s all about giving it a go at the end of the day.

    Hi Darren, my go to app for general wild camping and indeed normal campsites is iOverlander. I do have a couple of other apps but it depends really where I’m going. A lot of the time if wild camping is permitted (like Scandinavia) they usually have an official app that lists every hut, by type, with photos and it flawlessly links to google maps. If I recall Denmark has a particularly good app and it’s saved our bacon a couple of times in hideous weather. Anyway enough waffling on. Cheers for the comment. I’m gonna start editing pt 2 tomorrow (once I’ve fitted heated grips to the Tenere, I think I nearly got frostbite yesterday 😨) if I remember correctly the trip gets a little bit more fruity in Finland. 👍🏼

    My go to app is iOverlander. It’s really useful and got me out of a few sticky situations. The only problem is it is very popular. You can be riding to a secluded wild campsite only to find a few people have beaten you to it. Naturally that depends on where you are, what time of year and some are difficult to get to unless you on 2 wheels. My tip is get there early. Check it out in any App Store, it’s completely free.
