Instructor need to appreciate that stress is a function of strain & strain a function of displacement and dynamic displacement is obtained fron vibration/modal/dynamic simulation. Meaning, dynamic stress is obtained from dynamic simulation . & stress is the core entity everything is designed for.

Great video ! Side question: Are you using a space mouse ? If so, what model and is it worth it for a mechanical engineer as far as productivity and ergonomics ? Thank you !

Yes. This is the 3dconnexion space mouse wireless. It is very convenient to use across multiple CAD programs especially SOLIDWORKS. Thanks.

Hey Arun, thanks for the great video! I think you forgot to mention just the additional steps needed to define the properties of the harmonic study correctly.

Thank you for the feedback. There is another video on our knowledge base titled “Harmonic Analysis Advanced Settings” in our youtube channel that goes over this information. Please be sure to check that out. Thank you.

Why didn't you choose the other 4 mounting holes when you're specifying fixed restraints?

Hello! Thank you for the video. Is it possible to get a displacement(or acceleration)-frequency graph in the response spectrum analysis or in the modal time history? I see that such a graph can be obtained harmonic analysis.

Hello! Thank you for your question. It isn’t possible to generate a frequency response graph with the response spectrum analysis because of the nature of the results calculated. You are able to obtain peak amplitudes of stresses, displacements, strains and accelerations. Please check out the video titled ‘Solidworks Simulation - Shock Response Introduction’ on our KZread channel for more details! Thank you.

Hi Arun! Thanks for the video! Just two question: (1) why did you choose 1G as load instead of 10G in the second armonic analysis? (2) It's not clear to me your remark from 17:59 to 18:39, I want to understand that, can you help me in to that? Thanks!

He explains this kzread.info/dash/bejne/lJ5rxc1mdrbFltI.html. It is because the 10G load is an impulse, the other is a 1G load at a range of frequencies.

he doesn't give a complete explanation but I would assume that it is because he is making some assumptions about the operating environment of the assembly

If you know that the vibration isn't going to exceed 990 Hz why look at 5 natural frequencies

the reason could be because it needs accuracy for the dynamic analysis. to accuracy at dynamic analysis you need mass partisipation at least %80 for the spesific direction. so he increased the valuse for modal analysis which will be needed later for the dynamic analysis.
