    This is the SMARTEST low-ish budget hardware interface for a DAW yet conceived of. These three pieces (with 2-4 UF8 units) finally gives users a SERIOUS recording/mixing desk. As an older studio rat who started working in 24-track studios in 1983, I’m really glad to see it coming from SSL. But that’s just a sentimental thing on my part. 😎👍👍

    I am soo happy they that they came out with the UF1!!! Not having Transport Controls is why I was looking else-where for a controller set-up!!! Now that being said, two things are stopping me from investing into this setup, one, their is no visual feedback like custom channel coloring, and two, no separate channel metering option (like the Avid S1 or Dock)!!! But still, the UF1 has made me take another look at the SSL possibilities!!! Thanks Mitch!!!!

    I’ve been beta testing the UF1 for months and its is now a permanent feature of my system which is exactly the same as what is on show here. The UF1 is absolutely incredible and is the missing piece of the jigsaw. SSL killed it with this and the 360 software is stunning. Don’t think about it, order it. It’s a game changer!!

And we have 8 Physical faders. Currently we have selected track 1 which can be controlled with teh first hardware fader. Now we select channel 9, do we need to manually switch the bank or will the control surface follow?

    I own 2 UF8 - rack mounted with rack kit left and right side of my mastering desk with 3 racks in sweetsop’s and 12U and have another racked uc1 in the mid - on the rack kit there’s much space left and right so the rack kit have a big plate left and right - seems like ssl lack the size of combine uc1 and uf1 together in a rack size . So there’s no space for me to get this unit, if I check measurements both together are minimal more than 19“ - correct me if I’m wrong. unit is interesting but if it can’t live in 1 rack size on 6U together with a uc1 it will be deleted from my analog list.

    Hi, thanks for your interest! After reviewing SSL’s documentation, I don’t see a way to lock the V-pots or rotary encoder into a certain mode. However, you certainly can use the UF1 to control other plug-ins via Mackie Control. For more details, SSL’s complete user guide is available at this link: s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/eu1.download.solidstatelogic.com/UF1/SSL%20UF1%20User%20Guide_Rev1.0.pdf Feel free to contact me directly with any further questions, and thanks again! • @sweetwater

    @sweetwater

    Жыл бұрын

    Hi, Chris! Thanks for your interest. The Plug-In Mixer and other SSL plug-ins can be mapped to third-party controllers, just like any other VST plug-in. However, they won’t have the same seamless integration as the SSL controllers. 360 won’t detect them automatically, some features like the UC1’s automatic focus won’t be available, and you’ll probably have to manually map some of the controls to get the results you want. I hope this helps a bit - feel free to contact me directly with any further questions, and thanks again! • @sweetwater

    Hi, thanks for your interest! I’m not totally sure I follow what you mean by “tracking up,” but I’ll do my best to answer here, and you can feel free to reach out to me directly for further clarification. You’ll really get the best results from these controllers during the mixing process. They don’t have audio I/O, so you’d need a separate interface to track through - and the plug-ins included with the controllers run natively on your computer, so they wouldn’t be zero-latency for tracking purposes. That said, this is a really useful platform for controlling your DAW as if it were an analog console during the mixing stage. You can even link up to four UF8 units to get 32 faders that communicate with your DAW in real time. I hope this helps a bit - feel free to send me an email or reply here to continue the conversation! Caleb Lowrey, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1620, caleb_lowrey@sweetwater.com
