I think you can get specific metal.turning tools. Also, they're often turned in enclosed lathes which spray an oily liquid to cool and lubricate. However you've done a fantastic job there. I think some finer grade wet and dry for getting a perfect mirror finish is all thats really needed, oh and dont use Brasso, use Peek as it's less abrasive than Brasso (which peversely scratches the metal). Excellent as ever, and bonkersly entertaining.

For me, anything less than carbide tooling would be so time consuming that it would never be worth the effort. Kudos on this project. It takes skill to combine metal of any sort with wood to create. and, it takes a very wild imagination. Well done.

If you plan to try and turn more metal, please look into getting metal cutting tools. That way you can save your woodworking tools from the wear and tear. Also, if you wax the brass, it won't oxidize keeping it beautiful. Another thing I have asked many times if you have ever used beading tools? If you get good enough you can make rings that will leave people wondering how you got them on the piece.
