Can you register trading names under a sole trader business or is it best to register a company name and then put other trading names under that company name?

I earn about 100k at my job but i want to start a side hustle doing marketing. Ive got a ABN already what do i need to do now? Is a company name compulsory? I would like to offset internet electricity etc as i will be working from home and to other locations of clients. As a sole trader u mentioned that the income i make will be considered as personal income. So will this make any difference in my situation?
