l love all that more than my life. If l wasn't 45 and Spanish (although living in DC), l'd head right there 😄😎 l did meet 3 US Marines (together with an UK's Royal Marines Commando) training Arctic Warfare last winter in Arctic Norway. Being around those guys for a few hours was the highlight of my winter. ATB!

I was in Alaska 81-83 mess sec hard to cook chow at -40 below! God bless1/37 f.a 4/23 inf and 1/60 inf and support units. caveat!!!!

This school takes trainees to the final veneer of human survivability. Another inch, people start buying the ranch. An extreme and prolonged observation that determines if military discipline fractures when everybody freezes to death.

I was there For Wayen right, Alaska for artice training 1980-1982 Brim frost cold weather training living off the land making shelter to sleep,and stay dry with what we had being air lifted place to place having to get to our pick up site on time or we were left to go to our next pick up site already tired still having to move on in the fridged freezing cold RECONFrom Combat Support Company Recon 4th 23rd 172 Div.Fort Richardson, AlaskaLoving it !

German invasion forces doomed at Stalingrad reported that in the final days [hours] of freezing to death many casualties are driven insane. And sadly, these same reports surfaced years later when the 3rd Marine division and a US Army Brigade were cut off and trapped at North Korea's Chosin Reservoir.

Alaska was a tough climate in the winter. being from upstate n.y. made it a little easier. ft.rich81-83 .to the new troops take this advice deal with it"
