As we were deploying to Africa, we were given the peanut butter shot. We we’re processing in the gym. When we walked in we were handed two large syringes. We were to keep them in our hands while we processed each station to warm them up. At the final station, we stood behind a curtain, dropped trousers and were injected with both syringes in either butt cheek. My buddy, 6’2 280, while holding the curtain rail freaked and ran across the gym holding the curtain syringes still in pants around his ankles being chased by two nurses. 😂😂😂 That clown 🤡 said he was going to freak out and did spectacularly.

In 1982, we were inoculated by medics using the Air-powered syringes. If a soldier flinched, the seal against the arm was incomplete and the air blast would cut the soldier's arm. This caused a few soldiers to have blood dripping from their fingers or off their elbows. This caused a few soldiers who were afraid of the sight of blood to pass out.

When they gave us the PB shot, the very next day when everyone's legs and ass were sore was when we did our PT test in Benning. Good times!

@sergeantkilljoy905

@spyder027 because it feels like a lump of peanut butter in your butt cheek muscle that eventually dissipates over the next couple days.

When I was training at Ft. LW back in late 2020 they were still giving out the PB shots. The platoon and I had a squatting contest to see who could do more to lessen the pain.

Oh boy, the good ol peanut butter shot. Unfortunately I don’t have any fun stories of mine, I thought I was prepared and then I was severely humbled lol

Back in the 93 , NAVY boot camp, we didn't have a peanut butter one. We did have guns tho. One at each arm, delivering a dozen each plus a few jabs and a couple oral.

SILVER BULLET is what we called it when I joined in mid 70's. I used to administer silver bullets to "bad boys" who 👏 out downtown.😵💫😄
Thank god I’m allergic to penicillin
I just graduated AIT in September and we still 100% do the penutbutter shot
20 years ago my buddies that went in the year prior warned me to warm up my shot. We received our shot to be injected, and I got to work warming it mostly in my armpit.
In USAF Basic, we were told (loudly and often!) how sore we'd be after we got the "square needle in the left nut" shot. Quite a few of us seemed to believe it, too! I just kept my mouth shut, not knowing what kind of games they were playing with us....
The message to take away from this is that the advice to get through it is just to get through it because you have to do it sometimes
You say Penicillin in an odd way. Also, they definitely still give it.
Just like in pre-school, and being proud you didn't cry this time. First step toward manhood.
They did the same thing to dependant kids when I was one. Had them line up one day in school and stabbity stab!
My husband was in the Air Force and he said that during the Vietnam war there was no option of getting the shot, you had to get it
The peanut butter shot fkd me up Big time,I got bad sick
I’m legitimately allergic to penicillin so I’m lucky I wouldn’t have to go through it

The shot line I went thru had what looked like paint airbrush but was really a jet injector that had the cocktail in a vile and a hose to a air pump. If you moved, it would cut you.

Yeah, I remember that during Basic Training in the USAF. We had to fall-in to formation one by one after they hit us with that jet injector and stand there for 10 minutes to see if anyone had an allergic reaction. After a few minutes I collapsed but got back up as quick as I could. Our T.I. had me sit down for a few before we marched back to the barracks. They used that Jet Injector on both right and left arms at the same time as we passed between the two medics on each side. That was f'd up.

i got the peanut butter shot and i think out of everyone in my division i had it the easiest. everyone else was talking like they were in so much pain when we went back and sat on the floor. i just kinda sat there, no pain whatsoever, looking around at everyone else visibly shifting their weight over to the cheek that didn’t get hit

As of September 2021 they still give it
Oh god I’m a faint at these lines
I like shots they’re chill
I remember the shot that put a round 7 holes in your arm and you couldn't move your arm for a couple days , there was someone who tried to move away at last second and cut his arm , it was on a spring hanging from ceiling and air powered , 13 shots
I remember the next day the guy in the top bunk jumped out and collapsed into a mass of blood shot, tearing eyes. You didn't rock like you were told!
got my shots in AIT with air needles, plague and yellow fever with needles
Got mines in 2011 at Fort Beginning and my god Drill had us running back and forth until everyone got done
Damn i dont ever have to go through that since my country doesnt have a military
The peanut butter shot was a pill for me
In 1982, we were inoculated by medics using the Air-powered syringes. If a soldier flinched, the seal against the arm was incomplete and the air blast would cut the soldier's arm. This caused a few soldiers to have blood dripping from their fingers or off their elbows. This caused a few soldiers who were afraid of the sight of blood to pass out.
Our gov has a track record for testing drugs on soldiers.
We always got the rest of the day off. Everytime we went to the liquor store and loaded up then went to the barraks and fell asleep. Butxwe never got sick.
I used to hate getting shots as a kid I had allergies and I got seven needles a week but once I started traveling and having to go to foreign countries and getting so many more shots it just became a thing it was jab-shot-go-so what
We still get it in the navy. Doesn’t hurt terribly if you keep your muscle completely relaxed the whole time
Went through reception in May of 16, got the pb shot
Dat PB shot 😅
Looking at it, I'm already feeling it😬😬
I got so sick that day. I threw up at the chow hall after.
My first anti- tetanus shot felt like the worst flu ever. I warned the medics at my next posting that I am allergic. They did not care. I ended up in hospital.
Ngl i actually liked the peanut butter shot felt like If I went to the gym and hit legs hard but only one leg got sore
Back in early 70s the shot gun was new. They told you to relax or it would hurt. They did both arms at same time. they grabbed both arms hard and shot you. it was so violent you would jump leaving a semicircular cut on your arm. man that hurt.

I don't recall anyone getting the peanut butter shot at our reception station. That was at Ft. Dix in 1984
Bruh.. I've given so much blood, and had so many tests, a few shots doesn't phase me
Ahhh yes the shots that kill everyone
Fortunately I'm allergic to penicillin 😂
I already have a phobia of needles and absolutely hate them
When I went through boot camp and it was time for the shots I was so tired I didn't even care when I had to get a bunch of shots
They gave the PB shot to me even though later I found out that it's in my records that I'm allergic to penicillin. Thankfully I didn't have a reaction for some reason.
bruh hell nah when i went through Air Force basic military training i passed out in the shots lines down at Reid troop clinic 🤦🏾♂️😂
I was nervous.....I was stil shot with that air shot back in 97. But lucky enough I was with 2 prior service vets and told me just to relax and never to tighten up.
I love your videos! Thank you for your service!
I'm more scared of being late or waking up tired af than a measly needle >:o
I went to basic at FT. Leonardwood 3 months ago and we had the PB shot. But apparently my battle buddies from Jackson were given the pill instead of the shot. That’s why they are relaxin jackson.
