the 100 obviously sounds huge and awesome, but the mini has a kind of honky mid range that brings out some extra clarity in those single note passages and i love it

I had no expectations really. It was a pleasant surprise how good it sounded. Obviously no SLO 100, but given the size and cost it’s pretty sweet.

got my slo mini...i was shocked at how loud the little beast is...is it as good as an slo100? no, but for 250 bucks it is definitely cool and while not as rich sounding (warm) as the slo 100 it does have that soldano tinge to it that no other amps have....maybe its where they shelved the eq frequencies?

That SLO slayed but the Mini had the same type of vibe. Major difference but for the price? Why not!

That's exactly my opinion too

I bet if you turned the Mids and treble down a bit it would get even closer, but Ya know tubes will for now be warmer but I found out with my Orange Crush amps you have to rethink how you set the EQ. I have a Mini as well its pretty cool for my living room amp.

Ya you’re probably right. But it’ll never sound like a real SLO though. But for what it is and the price is a pretty awesome little amp.

The Mini does really great on the mix It has a pushed mid range that cut thru and not a lot of low end to compete with the bass guitar and the bass drums.

Depending on your cab/IR and pedals you can fatten it up. What I was trying to show in this video is with similar settings between the Mini and 100 what you'd get. It's not necessarily to say you can't fatten up the Mini a bit. There are a few other comparisons out there now that get the Mini to sound better than I have it here, but they have it tweaked and and likely some EQ and pedals boosting. In this video I'm just giving the straight up raw tones. I can tell you in the room on it's own, the mini sounds pretty damn good for what it is.

The low end on the 100 is so much fuller than the mini but the high end is comparable. The mini nails the 100’s tone though

The mini is much brighter than the Big Slo, but still does have that basic Soldano sound. Obviously the big amp has a better fuller sound, but still the little Slo is impressive. It looks like a fun amp.You could probably get it closer with some minor mods. I would think the Jet City amps are probably a lot closer.

@@artsal That's crazy whoever said that, the SLO has and continues to be an amazing sounding amp, the new ones are outstanding...even have a better loop than the old ones as well as the upgraded preamp controls.
