Jen: This special lady was my Christmas present this year and I love her so much! In keeping with her decals, I call her "Blue Willow." I appreciate the workmanship that you put into restoring her. BTW, she is the envy of all Featherweight owners in my sewing group, as they realize that not only does she look good, but she's had a complete overhaul. More importantly for me, sewing on her, I finally have great 1/4" seams!!! To others who are reading this ... there were 3 things that caught my attention. (1) 1949 ... her model year & the year my parents were married. (2) 1953 ... inscrbed on the case as an anniversary present & the year I was born. (3) The Blue Willow pattern ... my favorite dinnerware pattern. Thank you so much, Beverly from Palm Coast, FL

Beverly, it makes me smile to know Blue Willow is in such good hands. I love all the projects you are making with her, she wasn’t made to be put on a shelf (or a dumpster) and I know you will keep her busy! And yes! Excellent 1/4” seams!

I love your videos, I've used them do do a deep dive on a few machines, (such as a 301 for a single mom desperately in need of finding a way to fix her inherited 301-)and just watched and pondered others... You feed my soul while you inspire me to keep learning to restore these amazing vintage machines.... Thank you!

Thank you! It took a lot of time and investment to restore her. I wish I could make them more affordable, I do the best I can when I price them for sale but I know that sometimes they will still not be affordable for everyone. I would love to be able to just give them away. :) But, thanks for watching and I am happy you think she turned out beautiful!

Very sweet story. To think that someone was throwing it away. I think part of the appeal of sewing machines is their history and how once upon a time, everyone had one. I think they still should.

How wonderful & your amazing story telling pays great tribute to this beautiful machine. What a great rescue! I truly wish there was a website to register machines with their history, like an ancestry website for antique sewing machines.

How anyone could put such a machine in the trash compactor boggles the mind. But I have seen clean out where they empty everything out of the house, antiques and valuables and all and it all goes in the dumpster. Humans can be so wasteful. I am glad someone saw this machine and you just wonder how many more go unsaved. I personally like them restored in a simple manner with darker colors, but I know others find them delightful when they are more colorful.

You have an amazing voice .. so soothing and you explain everything step by step. My question to you is: have you done a video for someone who has just bought a Featherweight and wants to know how to clean it … I checked all your videos but cannot find something like that … I’d just like to know the process of how to clean it, remove old grease, put new grease and oil, etc and how to clean and shine it .. thanks for any help or suggestions you may have … you do beautiful restoration …
