Sold Out Motorcycles - Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 Walkthrough

If you've watched my Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 build videos, you will know I've used a few parts from Sold Out Motorcycles during the process. They recently asked me if I would film a walkthrough on one of their milder custom builds, and thought it was too good an opportunity not to include it on my own channel. The bike features a host of Sold Out parts including some wide custom yokes that have allowed the fitment of a 140-section front tyre! So in this simple video I'll walk you through all the changes to the stock bike and the parts fitted, as well as take it out to see how it rides and what the new Long Short exhaust sounds like.

Lovely job. The customisation of the interceptor is one of its key selling points.

Lovely modifications to the Interceptor. Be interested in the total cost. When I calculated the costs of the mods to mine it was…interesting!

Great video. Thank you for introducing me to Sold Out Motors. Still weighing what will be my first bike and this has definitely pushed me closer to the interceptor. Great ideas. I’d keep the two dials, though.

Some of the best looking Intercepter parts I’ve seen, and they don’t require you taking the hacksaw or the angle grinder to the bike, which to my thinking always makes the bike less easy to resell. (No to people seem to have the same idea of what a “custom” motorcycle should be😉.)

The Interceptor looks very good, Tony. I like the angle of the registration plate. Small detail but small details add up to a greater whole. Good handlebars. They look miles better. Nick

Nice one Tony. Thank you. Yes, that exhaust would be top of the list for me. Massive weight savings and a nice, not over the top enhanced exhaust note.

Love all the mods....apart from the clocks! One of the major plus points on the Interceptor ( for me, at least) is the clocks

Really nice looking parts. Especially like that exhaust. Great sound, but not obnoxious. Those risers are really nice too. Would love to see a video highlighting their short loop and seat.

Really good video Tony, and some nicely engineered products, but for me it's a shame to spoil the handsome simplicity of the interceptor, which I always thought was it's raison d'etre.

Some nice kit showcased, great work Tony. With the single seat it would be good to ditch the rear foot pegs, cleaning up the rear end.

LOL, took me a minute to realise that when you kept saying "sold out" you didn't mean "no longer in stock"... sorry, was being distracted by celebrity bake-off. Great additions for sure.

Great video Tony and a good looking bike. I have a Street Twin and always felt the Interceptor just looked that little bit too much "old fashioned". It is a very good looking bike when it is stock but not for me. This is a really sympathetic custom with parts that just clean up the look all round without being too garish... just making it a bit more "modern retro" looking. I will check out "Sold Out" as they seem to know their stuff :D Oh and I was Mark, the street twin owner that said "hi and thanks" at Motorcycle Live thought I should like and comment as I often enjoy content and don't engage.

Definitely sounds louder & with the headers be atleast 5hp more than stock. So not the same & leave a stock bike in the dust with 5-6hp more & the 12kg lighter & 8Nm more heavy stock bike choking on the dust.Does cost heaps though.

Customisation is always a personal thing. Why worry about exhaust note, listen to the silly boy racers in their “boom boom” cars with 1.0 litre engines, with number plates you can’t decipher (if fitted) sitting low behind the wheel with backward baseball cap ! Now they’re REALLY annoying. Love the bike cheers Tony. 😎👍.

Individually the Sold out parts look excellent but somehow don’t work for me as a whole. I always mod my bikes to my individual taste but there’s always a performance gain in handling, power output, braking or comfort, don’t see any of those gains on this project bike.

The front mud guard is so small that it is useless. A mud guard like the ones made in 1960s would keep your motor clean.

Nice bike! Well presented. I used to have the same tail from Sold Out and I received 4 comments from viewers that that is illegal - the number plate is way out. But personally, I think it's okay. Cops and cameras can still see it perfectly fine.

Exhaust is a big improvement from the original that l always thought was too big and ''sticky out''. Sounds great too, tone isn't the same as volume!....Not so sure about the 'fat tyre' though. For me it looks to bulky... I'm more of a 60s Cafe Race style myself or traditional looks..not the americanisation custom scene...

Nice video, but not for me I'm afraid, not knocking the additions, but the total cost of all those bits must be eye watering, bearing in mind the Interceptor is a budget machine, which is one of it's big advantages. Still, if you want something different......

  • @mancavemoto

Fair enough, although you could flip that around and say because its an inexpensive bike then you can spend money on personalising it and still spend less than some other 'stock' motorcycle?

  • @mancavemoto

    @mancavemoto

Unnecessary weight, the difference in tyre weight is small and they are the stock wheels. The rack weighs half of what the stock grab handles do. The centre stand weighs about 4.5kg. It looks better without too

Personally I think they have spoilt it but to each their own. I suppose it fits those that like to show individuality. But for me the appeal of the original is the retro look and I this is going away from that. It would be a boring old world if we all liked the same
