Yup, I made those same kind of noises in October. Got my 2022 Street Bob.
I will never look at a trade-in in the same callous way again. The opening "conversation" in the rain, with the Triumph crying... heart wrenching.
Very sweet and wholesome to see you so excited about your new bike! The guys at the shop are super cool too
Congratulations! I've found the soft luggage to be the more flexible option on longer trips than the hard panniers. Since you ride solo, soft is also the clear choice for the pillion and / or tail pack. Aftermarket water proofing treatment is also generally a good idea from time to time.
Congrats on the new one. I like the blue, but to each their own. Might try doing a wrap rather than paint. Bags, soft. They allow some over packing, scuffs & scrapes don't show as bad. They take up less room when not mounted on the bike. Ride safe and hope to run into you on your cross country.

Hey Doodle you have made a wonderful choice , I’ve had my Tiger 900 for eight months and would not change it for the world , you will LOVE it . Look forward to seeing your adventures on it .
Congrats on the new bike! Love the videos- your willingness to show your crashes and mishaps make the channel very interesting and relatable. Keep up the great work! .
Congrats on the new bike! Your excitement is infectious.... Excited to see your next adventures!
Love the exitement on your face, you deserve that new beautiful bike, we all love your content! I use hard cases when I ride city/highway, more secure and hard to brake in. But then I replace it all with soft saddle bags for off road end/or camping. The soft ones are lighter, and the content doesn't move around, finally, the soft bags have a lower center of gravity! Enjoy
Great to see you smiling again, Doodle. What a beautiful motorcycle. When you are riding it, you can barely see the color, you are having so much fun.
My goodness, I'm 6Foot 2 and I'm super intimidated if I can't flat foot a bike. I couldn't imagine being a shorter rider who couldn't flat foot most bikes, that takes courage. :)

Just like everything, it's like 99% technique. I couldn't flat foot my Yamaha T7 at 6'-0", but it would have been crazy to not get that bike because of it. Lol, I honestly never encountered a situation where this was a disadvantage.

I'm 5'3 and a girl and every bike I've ever ridden and owned I've always been on my tippy toes on either side. Even if I shift my butt over. Bikes are so well balanced that when coming to a stop you really only need the minimum on the ground to stay upright. Like everything else with riding it just takes practice :)

I am a vertically challenged rider with short legs. .....and a newer rider. I felt flat foot or nothing. My first bike had a 27" seat height which I could comfortably flat foot. A couple of the bikes that interested me for my for second bike put me on the balls of my feet close to tip toes. I decided I really did not want that to limit my choices. Boy was I nervous about test riding them but I stuffed that fear and went for it. Shout out to Doodle's videos in part for instilling in me the go for attitude. Haven't dropped this new bike yet 2500 miles in. 🙌

What bike can’t you flat foot at 6-2, I can’t flatfoot any of the 4 bikes I own, I’m 5-8. Why are you intimidated?
Congrats on the Tiger! I was torn between the Tiger 900 Rally and the 1200 XE Scrambler and went with the Steve McQueen Scrambler purely for the retro look. I would recommend soft bags over hard. Safer during a fall if the bike lands on you, they hold more, and easier to get in and out of tight spaces if you do any trail riding. Have fun and ride on!
Glad you didn’t let the seat height deter you! As a man with a short inseam of 30” coming off a bike with an almost 37” seat height unladen you end up adjusting your riding habits and planning your foot placements. It ends up becoming second nature like all of our other motorcycle habits. Sliding a cheek and one leg down becomes the norm, just watch out for those sloped roads or ditches 😅
Congratulations on the new bike. Hope for you to have many miles of service and safe travels. Wish you the best young lady.
Congrats on the new bike... as for bags I'd probably go with soft... 1) they tend to be a bit lighter 2) you can stuff an little more in them 3) they won't get scratched when and if you drop it 4) if and when you do drop it you don't have some thing solid falling on your leg.

… as you said, the weight! Also, I reckon knocks to hard cases can also transfer to the rack, and can bend them. I go rackless soft luggage, Kriega OS. Significantly lighter. On a top heavy bike like the Triumph, keeping the weight down is important…

Get one!!! I bought one, and loved it so much that when it was written off (twice) I bought another one. Different color each time. It's an incredible do everything bike. I'm only 5'9 tall but I can just about flat foot on both sides if i'm wearing work boots. (i'm also about 260lbs fully geared with helmet, jacket, gloves, long pants, etc. i'm pretty sure that helps.)
Congratulations on the new 2 wheels. You are so courageous, fearless and inspiring.the pure joy of getting a new motorcycle..that feeling, priceless. Great video, safe travels, Aloha, Kenneth

Congratulations. Great bike. Wishing you a lot of safe and happy miles.
The beginning was super cute, looks like a great bike. Look forward to seeing your first adventure on it. Full engine guard is a must, good call !
Congratulations, great bike! Nothing more exciting as getting a new bike! Loved the video and your talk to your old bike and the excitement over the new one-they do have personalities. 😂. Your hubby did great job as your camera man. Best in all your future adventures!
Looks great. Very happy for you. Good luck on your trips!!!!
Exciting! I also have a Tiger 900, but GT Pro version. I love it. It’s my favorite bike ever. Hand guards will also break first off road drop, get Barkbusters. And of course the adventure mirrors from double take. It’s a great all around bike, and a good distance bike. I have done three week long tours on mine, and always came back loving it.
Congratulations on the new bike! I agree with another comment. Wrap that thing. It saves the factory paint. That way you can change the color to white or red as you please with just a little money spent. Plus if down the road you find you're gonna sell it, it's all stock once the wrap gets taken off
That is a great bike! I rode the Tiger 1200 version myself and loved it. Frame and engine and balance and power were great. Also the seat had a deep dish feel, at 5’10” I was able to flat foot easily.
So much fun seeing you get your new bike. Looking forward to seeing your new videos with it.
Wooo hoooo!!! 🎉 congrats can’t wait to see what adventures you take it on!!!
Get soft luggage for two reasons. 1, they won't dent when you drop the bike. 2, if you do get your leg between the luggage when dropping the bike, it's less likely you'll hurt your leg. Don't paint the bike but get it wrapped instead. Do red. A satin finish red would look killer. Can't wait to see some offroad content.
"I might drop it on the way home." An ADV bike without scars is just a commuter bike! When I saw this title, I just knew it was gonna be a Tiger. I've seen the reaction to it a few times here in the past, and with the road trips, it seemed inevitable.
It's so great to see how excited you are about getting your new bike. Congratulations! I am always more excited about getting a new bike than I am about getting a new car or truck. Haha.
Congratulations on your new bike! Ride safe and enjoy it
Absolutely thrilled for you, Doodle! Honestly, I was quite worried that you were going for an H-D Glide/Bagger/Cruiser/Whatever and I thought, “Great, another woman KZreadr on a cruiser.” 😢 But, you surprised me and I think your choice is inspired! The things you’ll learn, the people you’ll meet, and the places you’ll see thanks to owning an ADV bike will be amazing. Congrats! Will look forward to watching your exploits as you travel across the country. 👍
If you want to paint it yourself, I'd recommed painting it red. White is (in my experience at least) pretty tricky to get smooth, due to spotty covarage and the very large pigment size. Also mud/dirt/dust will be a lot less noticeable on a red bike, if you plan on doing any offroading/dirt roads, that's another point to consider. Have fun with your new bike! :)
Hey congrats on the new bike!! I bought a new to me 2014 Explorer 1200xc last May and me and the wife love it! Plenty of power and capabilities. Hope you enjoy yours as much as we love ours
Congrats on the new bike! So stoked for u!
Congratulations on your new bike, it looks fantastic in blue 🎉 Edit, saw Bradley at the end, glad to see a happy dog in your videos 😁
Congrats on the nice bike! For side bags; please go with soft. I know there is a lot to say for hardcases (I use them too), but if you're planning doing even the slightest off-road or gravel roads, go with soft bags. If you drop the bike, the softbags can take some impact, meaning less damage. But more importantly, chances on major injury are less. An ankle or a foot under hard panniers will have a different outcome than under softbags. Have fun with the bike! Cheers from Holland!

Hey Doodle, nice to see you got a Tiger. Great bike. Agreed its a bit tall. I'm 165.5cm and 66 kg at 72 years. I got a Tiger Sport 850. After stuggling a bit with height issues, I got a low seat. Six months later I'm thinking of putting the regular seat back on. Its easy. So, with the training you do, I'm convinced you will be absolutely comfortable soon. Wish you much fun and good times. Ride safe. Shashi, India.
Awesome bike! The type of cases you install will be determined by where you plan to use them. If you only use them for long road trips, then lockable hard cases are hard to beat. If you see yourself doing more off-road oriented trips, then go with a good set of soft cases. They're less likely to injure your leg in a tip over. If you can swing it, I suggest getting both. It's great to have the option.

I’ve seen on Instagram that you’ve already got the bags, but if I were to choose I’d go for soft bags because if I fall while off road, it’s easier to remove and then pick up the bike. The hard cases add a lot of weight IMO

Congrats on the new bike 😀👍 Personally would go red colour wise. Bags I’ve had lots of hard cases on several bikes but would now go soft. Something like kriega soft bags probably even the OS Base. Mainly my thinking is if your off road and drop it the soft bags have a bit of ‘give’ in them and could possibly absorb some of the energy? Maybe wrong. Whatever you do I’m sure you’ll have a blast on the Triumph 🙂👍
Congrats to the cutest motochick ever! Been following for a while and always appreciate your content. Hope your roads are smooth, dry and curvy!
Congratulations on the new ride!!!🎉
Happy new bike day! I KNEW you were going to get a Tiger. The new 900 and 1200 lines are great bikes! Edit: I agree about the color (I went for the 1200 RP in white). And the OEM crash bars. Definitely only good for a single drop before they bend into the radiator.

@@robspear6004 I heard the same about the 900s. Not sure how much better it is though. I have one of the 1200s and it already has 3 mounting points. They still bend in badly in a drop. I realize you don't want them to be too rigid so they don't damage the frame, but the metal is too soft and flexible on the OEM bars, IMO. I had Triumph OEM engine guards on my Scrambler 1200 and those were great. I'm not as impressed with the ones on the Tigers.

@@elevationmoto6208 I'm only 5'7" and used to be the same about taller bikes until a tall workmate told me that being too tall for a bike is even more restrictive. Yes! Figure out those u-turns! Keep it blue for awhile and see if you get used to it. If after maybe 6 or 7 months you still don't like the blue, then paint it red or whatever color you want. Don't paint it right away.
I've tried to tell people for years that the small tiger is the most versatile motorcycle out there. Now, I only have a 30" inseam, so I would have opted for the "low" version. I'm struggling to understand why you opted for the standard height version, but that's just me. Enjoy that triple growl!

Because she has the technique, also as long as you can hold your bike with your left foot and hold the brake with the right one you will be fine
@BugTheRoot
Жыл бұрын
@@mightyakkylex that sounds fine in theory. I absolutely disagree that it is that simple, especially once they get to uneven terrain. The seat height is 32"-33". She looks like she has maybe a 26" to 27" inseam, leaving her heavily dependent on one foot down. I sure hope she never puts that one foot down on an oily spot in the road. And I'd hate to see her attempt a rocky river crossing in water up to the engine; she wouldn't be able to stop the bike from dropping and submersing. BTW, did they test that she can lift that beast?! Dry weight is 427 lbs. Isn't that another important skill that helps decide what model and size bike is right for you? This whole idea of "all you need is one foot on the ground and you can ride it" is just over-simplification. I'm sure she will enjoy the bike if she keeps it on the paved roads...I just hope she is fine if she starts exploring unpaved and uneven roads or trails.

@@BugTheRootI agree 100%. That’s why Triumph came out with the low version. Is it really a compromise riding the low version? I had an xcx, and my friend had the 900 low. He loved it. I have a Super Tenere now, but miss my Tiger.

@@Rwj378 I've thought a little about using a scrambler as a travel bike, since they have a lower seat height and would be quite versatile except for really difficult offroad. I don't mean using a scrambler as a Rally type motorcycle, that would be silly. But if I were traveling through Mexico or Central America, where 90% is good to fair road and very little is difficult dirt, it might work very well. For now, my KLR works very well.
Congrats on the new bike! Just use the one legged stop! Very stable than being on tip toes with both feet. Also look into a low sear option, but the one legged stop is what really helped me out. Ride safe…
