I just bought a 2000 Deville with 80K miles on it, and have now driven it about 600 miles. They are truly amazing cars. I'm so impressed with it. this car looks incredible, someone will love this car.
A beauty, and a sweet ride. It’s amazing how well kept that Caddy is.
Beautiful car but Northstar engine a huge risk otherwise I would be highly interested.

@@antoniojmonetti you are absolutely correct. I do watch the Wizard's channel. But with only 37k miles there is no way to know if bolts have been replaced unless it's in the service records. That is a stunning Cadillac though especially coming from West Virginia. Surprised there is no rust. Wish your family good health and please stay safe. You acquire some magnificent vehicles

No one can fix the head gasket unless you put in a complete new or rebuilt engine. I had a 1999 Seville with same engine and died at 100,000 miles. Shame as it was such a beautiful car. Unfortunately would love to have another Caddy from like this, but too risky. Love your vids though.

Hence why you don’t see any of them on the road.
I'n a volunteer driver for a non profit org here in Baltimore. I accompany aged seniors to critical medical appointments and treatments. As well as dreaming of one day being able to own one of your special cars, right from the beginning...as soon as I discovered your channel, I immediately thought how great it would make any of my aged senior clients feel to get a ride to one of their medical appoints in one. They'd feel like a celebrity. These cars a the oscar winners of these folks automotive dreams. Keep being awesome Anthony!
It's great to see a 2001 in such good shape. We just got rid of my mom's 2001, which was pretty much shot. It had come to the end of its life.
Had a beautiful, fast 2001 Cadillac DTS. Ran great without any problems till it went over 100k then the engine overheated then blew up..Gotta love that Northstar! Now driving a CTS Vsport & fell back in love with Cadillac all over again!!!...
I agree with Anthony on how white wall tires look more visually appealing on a Cadillac. White wall tires and a Cadillac are like salt and pepper. You can't have one without the other!
Beautiful car but the extra chrome by the windows and undercarriage make it look tacky

Fix it cheap basted!! New head studs, for a car that 40k then which is about 52-55k now
Recently purchased a 2001 Deville with 3k original miles on it. It’s basically a mint condition car but I was confounded by the fact that there were no cup holders!!! Until I watched this video that is 😂😂 thank you! Looks amazing
The engines not problem the head bolts need to be replaced on all these. Cost get work done is what makes people pass on these cars. Car wizard on here explain in detail. He did his but his labor free. He goes in put beefed up head bolts cars good for ever.
Anthony; As always another great video show casing the super clean low mileage cars offered for sale by Specialty Motor cars. Keep up the good work!
OMG I love it. You keep out-doing yourself. This DeVille is gorgeous! Ea time the notification lights up, I can't wait to see your latest accomplishment. You're my favorite channel. Did you fix the heads deficit in those Northstar are ify .... Always enjoy your videos 👍
It would be a great car if it had a standard engine. I learned from experience about owning a Northstar. I got a great deal on a grandmother’s 06 DTS with 38k miles. Anything done to it you have to drop the motor for more than I could sell it for.
@henryhawkins1194
4 жыл бұрын
You don't have to drop motor, you can take one motor mount out and roll the engine. Depending on which side you're trying to access.
Beautiful shape. I have an 2006 top trim level. I like the two toned vinyl inside. Mine doesn't have this. Shame this one doesn't have the center console & shifter like mine, also wood steering wheel. I would recommend to anyone considering a used DTS regardless of year, have money because they are very expensive to repair!! Big time !
The North Star engine developed a poor quality reputation early on, some deserved, some not. Most of the problems revolved around engine oiling. Meticulous maintenance, even changing the oil more frequently than Cadillac recommended, would usually mitigate the issue. The other big problem was head gasket related. Cadillac redesigned the problem areas by the 2000 model year, given the maintenance this vehicle appears to have received, should be good indicators that this engine would live a long happy life with continued proper care.

the deville didn't start to improve until 04-05. The 00-03 are notorious for having head gasket issues.
@cadillacguy1890

Zooman X I’ve heard that as well. The explanation is that the head bolts don’t hold the head to the block securely at peak combustion pressure because they don’t have enough thread mating area to prevent stretching of the bolt. Combustion gasses escape the cylinder and burn the head gasket, eventually causing it to fail. I believe there was a new spec for head gasket material, as well as Cadillac changing the OE material. BTW there’s also anecdotal evidence that the same thing is happening to some newer, small displacement turbocharged engines.
@Mark-xh9ne

Agreed. Always change the oil at 50% life. Keep coolant changed every couple years with proper pellets. Yes I have known of a Northstar to hit 250k but that is a rarity. The head bolts where changed for 00 that lessens the proclivity of head gasket failure but unfortunately was not enough until the 04/05 update.

@@8corymix8 I don't know where you live, but I see both 1994-99 and 2000-05 Cadillac Deville sedans every single day here in the Midwest. Hell, my neighbor owns a pristine 2002 Deville in brownish bronze (I don't know the color name). Not to mention all of the 90s-02 Eldorado and 1992-2004 Seville that I still see rolling around. The reason for this is that people who bought those cars that I see take care of them, despite all of the false information going around.
Nice! Love the whitewalls
Another amazing/exceptional car, I'm always impressed with the vehicles that you find, awesome job Anthony, keep it up, best to the future new owner, enjoy it.
I love that body style, that is one nice looking vehicle there, great find which came from the most beautiful state W. Virginia!!

Wow!!! Just watched this on my big screen!
Absolutely Gorgeous - thanks!

VERY nice caddy Anthony. love the interior.
Sharp Caddy Anthony. Love the color.
Cadillac didnt fix the head bolt issues until 2005 anything under that year have problems.other than that beutiful car I want one but the cost to fix is to much..thanks for this beutiful cars u show us
Still watching but this car looks very nice. I liked these cars at the time too but never bought one when preowned plus Cadillac still had the hood ornament like this one on some models. Happy Easter Anthony & Everyone. .God Bless! 🐰

Anthony my man you have done it again sir!
I am with you on the black wall tires. I do not care for them either. The pin stripping works too. Nice shade of blue. I rode in one of those Devilles from that era several times. I did not like the location of the seat controls. I know they had digital gauges too. Very nice detail. The only thing bad about the car is the Northstar V8. That cup holder and center arm rest is a nice set up. This was a nice Deville on every level. Good price too.
I just bought the exact same car recent same color too it’s wonderful riding car mine has very high miles but it still runs strong
Really enjoy the vids bro
The Northstar engine problem years are 1996, 97 & 98. I have a 2002 STS and it is fine - this car should serve someone very well.

That’s a beautiful car. I’ve got a 2004 DTS that is in damn near the same condition and I cherish it. It is my pride and joy and I will go down swinging before they take it from me haha. Everything works and is original and I love the look these have when they’re just right. I want to get with Northstar Performance and have them go over it. They can tune these motors and get some really impressive results from it and I’d like to have them get it into fighting weight. Have you, or anyone else, have any experience with them? I’ve heard nothing but wonderful things and I’m anxious to get her to them. I love your channel sir and I enjoy all your videos. Definitely one of the channels I watch the most
Now that's a caddy!!!!
very nice. great price.
FYI people should always condition your driver’s seat to prevent cracks and wear. At 37k the driver’s seat should look a lot better. Otherwise very clean caddy

@@willitmakeit Would you like to know how many Northstar Cadillacs I've seen in the past week alone here in the Midwest? Probably at least 50 of them. So much for your theory about the Northstar being a "bad" engine...
Ive owned or own many northstars. Like any other expensive car, they get pricey at times. The color and the whitewalls set it off. Like my Eldo.
Nice car at a fair price. Not great but fair. 7k USD is 10k CND. As we are in a border lock down situation, and I am in Canada I will cut you a check then just mail the car back to me one piece at a time . Will do the head bolts and gasket upon reassembly. Should be done by the summer.......of 2035 ! I love a good project. FYI,,,that paint code looks black at night. Very nice.
Beautiful Cadillac! But DTS version, as I know, has a more powerful 300 HP engine, more sportive suspension and grille with Cadillac badge, that was situated not on the hood. I'm from Russia. The next DTS model also very beautiful and stylish, he has more acute angles in design, once I saw one black DTS in Saratov.

Very Good!..
This is still a front wheel drive big car, but for the exact money I would grab an avalon or rwd mercury grand marquis, both are bullet proof and you can work on them in your drive way, even if the miles are much higher, it wouldn't really matter, now that 07 DTS you had a while back, that was something I could see springing for, this one, meh, not so much.
Outstanding
Nice car.

Beautiful car, wish I could get it here in South Africa. One real ugly part is those automatic seat belt adjustments.
The Big 3 really should have a bespoke option where you can get a better grade interior, that cheap plastic and leather upholstery just enforces the rebadged Chevy, Ford, Dodge remark.
