How much I have one

I've had 4 of them..an 88, two 90's & a 91. All 240's. They were extremely reliable and long-lasting vehicles.

The 240 is just the perfect car. Well designed both in looks and technical solution, solid, comfortable, no more complicated than it has to be, easy to repair and maintain.

Childhood memories here. Back in the 80s my grandparents both had Volvos. One was a 240 DL sedan and the other was a 242 Turbo 2 door.

I bet that beauty was sold immediately.

Volvo 240GL is a very good car. I bought a used one from Europe in April 2019. I'm still driving it. I use it currently in Lagos Nigeria any where I go. Such a nice engineered product.

I had a 91 Volvo 240. I really loved that car. In 1990, I believe, they got rid of the DL/GL designations and all vehicles after were GLs. The DL did not come with power locks or windows. One issue with the car is that the antenna used to constantly break -- I believe from vibrations. Volvo finally came out with a solid (non-telescoping) antenna after-market part that I then had no problems with. The high-mileage badges are supposed to be attached to the grill. I had the 100,000 and 200,000.

Very very nice 240....can't believe the map pockets on the doors ain't cracked...and that you didn't mention that specifically...nice review overall

One thing to really watch out for on these cars is the Alternator belts. These cars come with TWO of them. If one breaks I advise that it be replaced IMMEDIATELY. If you try to run this car with just one belt, it WILL SNAP and the engine will overheat. These engines come with aluminum heads that warp very easily, Once that happens you can kiss the engine goodbye

Ewww an automatic volvo 240, other than that, the car is in perfect condition.
