When we first converted a cargo trailer into a camper, I saw a video warning anyone using a Cargo Trailer for Bug Out or a Camper, that they need to put a lock in the base that is attached to the cargo trailer frame, not the door. This way if you are inside and some joker decides to lock you inside your cargo trailer, they won't be able to get that handle in place to lock you in. Great job on the solar setup!

Nowhere to store a trailer at my house, but I've done something similar with my Suburban: 100w Renogy panel clamped onto the roof rack with cabling that runs in through the rear hatch and hooks into an Oukitel power station. Then a BougeRV E35 fridge, which fits perfectly in the passenger 2nd row seat with the bottom of the seat flipped forward and a spacer made from old 2x4 underneath it. For sleeping I've got an Exped MegaMat Duo M (by far the most comfortable air mattress I've ever used). Finally, a Leaveshade heavy duty retractable awning with indoor/outdoor LED tape lights on the outer and inner frame. Bug out vehicle and mini-camper, all in one!

@ Leadfarmer 73 question have you engineered or thought @ a protective cover for the solar panels against nature's hurricanes & other unique phenomenon. Also are you adding in a temperature reader ? Cool trailer man!!! What made u decide on using self tappers instead of small bolts, washers and lock nuts? And will u use any sealant on the inside where the tappers came through for more protection?

Hi Led, I watch your video’s all the time. I wanted to know what kind of tape you used on the trailer. To keep the water from leaking in from through the brackets.
Love this video. What can be put over the panel … like when going thru some trees or weather like hail to prevent it from being cracked?
@leadfarmer73
Жыл бұрын
If it s just sitting and not moving you could place some plywood over it.
👍👍👍
💪💪
Something I haven't seen yet but was wondering if you could put a plexiglass shield over the solar panels to prevent anything from hitting them? Would the sun still pass through to charge them?
73 , Can you explain why you didn't put two solar panels on the roof of the trailer. THANKS
@leadfarmer73
Ай бұрын
Because this is a 200 watt panel and I had to leave room for the rest of the build on the roof. Like the fan vent and sun canopy. My new video shows it now and I’m sure it will make a little more since.🤣

Hi LeadFam, which is a better choice Kyng solar generator 280Wh 600W Peak Portable Power Station $169.95 or BLUETTI EB3A 600W Portable Power Station 268Wh LifePO4 Battery Solar Generator?
What is the name of that sealant tape you used and where can I get it 👍
What was the reason for installing the Energizer PPS 2000 vs the Bluetti AC200P?
@leadfarmer73
Жыл бұрын
Excellent question. I have the older ac200p and it won’t take a charge at those low amps and volts from the 180watt solar panel. That’s the only reason. The newer updated Bluetti ac200p can charge at a lower voltage. Some day I will trade up for that one. They are all EXCELLENT SPG’s I just had to use what I had for the time being.
