I have so much respect for Solar. Since they really didn't have enough budget during their early careers, they needed to be 'proper' in so many ways, and Solar had to be extra strict. Being strict isn't a easy thing to do. It's emotionally very tiring, but she did it for Mamamoo. As much as Solar is strict to others, she is more strict to herself and that's why mamamoo is so close to each other. I love her.

Yea seeing other people cry in general is always hard for me as an empath

the reason solar got strict about hwasa’s legs being crossed is because they were rookies at the time and crossing your legs could be seen as disrespectful, and since solar is the leader she would be the one to get the most backlash cause she’s in charge of the group and how the appear to others on public when together, so we could see it as hwasa just crossing her legs but in korea it could definitely be taken as hwasa being disrespectful to the interviewer also mad respect to solar , originally mamamoo was supposed to be 5 members (the girls are still super close to the 5th member, hwasa and her even have matching tattoos) and she was supposed to be the leader but some stuff came up and she decided not to debut with the group so solar got pushed right into the leader roll and since she’s the youngest at home it was really difficult or her to take the lead , she’s honestly such a great leader

@@SinghReacts oh yes most definitely! now that they’re no longer rookies and they’ve earned their title as a senior group , it’s not seen in such a bad light now, you’ll see them cross their legs quite often , but as a rookie in the industry it was kinda seen as them looking down on interviewers and stuff , i don’t know the exact reason as to why it was so disrespectful but i can assume it almost the same as crossing your arms and coming off as dismissive when you’re talking to someone higher up than you

I dont see many reactors that have Solar as their bias and most people only talk about her visuals and that she has power vocals and thats true but she is so much more, she give so much love and time to us Moomoos to make us happy, her stage presence is so good and she can be so versatile when she sings. Her emotions and passion she have is unbelievable and she is a great dancer, amazing leader that take care of the members, she make them laugh all the time, she is such a humble and beautiful person and she isnt afraid to challage herself and this industry, she is a really good role model with everything she does and stand for. I heard a similar thing about Wheein bias reactors lol but yea solar is definitely gorgeous and extremely talented. Sings from the heart which is why sometimes when she belts it’s not always the cleanest but the raw emotion is there. But I agree she probably doesn’t get as much love as she deserves 💙

Yeah, Solar and Byul always get me crying when they sing. Byul seems like she always writes song about personal experiences that are really special to her, but that's why she's so good at connecting with people. I always really loved Guchahae and her special that she did a while back for that reason.

Solar is amazing she isn't my bias but she gets a lot of love from me. She is so driven and an inspiration. She is a great leader 😍😍😍

I think Solar doesn't like crying in front of other people because she feels like she needs to be the strong one, which is why it always hits so hard when she does. It's like a sign that somethings up and whatever they're talking about is something really important and personal to her, otherwise she'd try not to show it.

RBW has been lenient with them after they debuted, to the extent that Solar and the three had to watch each other’s diets so as to keep in shape as idols. It is a good thing that the company does not pressure them to do things but on the other side of the coin, it also takes discipline to be successful and set apart above the rest. It was important that Solar took it upon herself to lead well because if she did not do it, i believe mamamoo will not be as successful as they are now. How do you manage and keep four talented queens grounded and working together without falling apart? Having a leader who tries her best to keep it together and love. Solar did it and she did it well! I hope Solar also gets a lot more love and success not just as a part of mamamoo but as an individual artist/ performer.

From what I understand her first solo did quite well and I’m so glad because she deserves all the love and success in the world 💙 hopefully that gives her motivation to do more!

I feel like some moments that just remind me how Solar is such a mother figure to the group is like that time when they were on stage and Byul handed her a used, snotty tissue and Solar just held onto it till the end of show so she could throw it out. It's like how parents don't really care about touching their kids germy stuff cause they're so used to it lol. Also, when that one reporter was asking weird invasive questions towards Hyejin, and you could see that Solar was ready to fight the guy at a moment's notice. I have a lot of respect for her, as I know all the members do as well. She's very hard on herself, but thankfully her determination doesn't go unnoticed. I think they really elaborate on the on Boss Behind the Mirror (I think that's what it's called I don't totally remember). Maybe you could do a reaction to that?

it just gets more emotiknal when solar cries.. like you can really feel how much she went through to take care of her members but we all stan a queen👑

The song at the start is from her Solar Emotion series. She released 6 covers of older Korean songs with MVs and a physical album too. All but one are ballads. I'd definitely recommend them! It's because of Solar that I got into mamamoo about 5 yrs ago now. Her individual story is just inspiring since she didn't start pursuing music until after college, failed about 45+ agency auditions before finally getting into RBW. And then becoming a leader must've been so much pressure for her. Plus, the other 3 already kinda knew each other since wheesa are childhood friends and wheebyul were both at a different agency prior to RBW. Solar's parents were really against a music career too so you can see why she's so damn hard-working all the time. The fan songs Never Letting Go, star wind flower sun & I'm your fan were all her original creations as well. She really is a model leader IMO. Thanks for the solar appreciation ❤

if you notice, the channel that uploaded that video is named 'hwasa's throne is my face'. they're very, very much hwasa-biased but alongside all their (amazing) crack uploads, they've shared plenty of content showing love for each of the four members and all four at once. so, even when you blatantly have a bias it's super easy to love all four... actually, i find it more unlikely that you can't love any one member... i've said in the past elsewhere that i started out moonbyul-biased when i was introduced to mamamoo through 'immortal songs 2', hwasa's stage presence eventually pulled me to her but the more i watched their behind the scenes stuff the more i fell for wheein until that crazy puppy grabbed my heart and has refused to let go. solar is the only member who has never shone in my personal spotlight but she's actually the member i admire the most, both because she started at such a comparatively late age (and had the leadership role thrust upon her unexpectedly) and, more importantly, her drive... the way she refuses to let anything get in the way of whatever goal she has set forth for herself. kpop is crazy with the schedules and amount of work expected of its artists but even among kpop artists mamamoo stands out as workaholics and even within mamamoo solar stands out, rarely allowing herself a break, constantly striving to improve herself

Solar is my bias, she is really a good and caring leader. When she first being the eldest in the group, she didn't know what to do since she was always the youngest in the family, and this made her the first time to be the older sister. She had no clue on how to be a good leader, therefore, she kept on being strict to the members at the beginning. We all can see the changes of her now, although sometimes she is still being strict, other members know her heart now. She always being the silly and funny one when others are down or tired, she keeps on raising up the mood among the girls. During the Wind Flower promotion, the song didn't receive as much love as the other 4season4color projects, we all knew that she was really upset that time since this song is representing her in the project, she still didn't express her feelings to others.... This has made me very sad watching her to go through this by herself, I hope she will express more of her feelings to the members, don't hide them just because she is the leader!

The gift to Wheein and Hwasa was a coffee truck - there’s a whole industry in Korea based around sending them as (expensive) gifts, with I assume the tab paid.

Solar had to take care of 15yo teenagers wheein and hwasa and also be there for moonbyul when she struggled with her rapping /singing add to this all of the pressure of being an underdog group in their beginning, her growth is admirable

The first song you asked about was It's Been a Long Time, the final song in her series of covers called Solar's Emotion. All the other songs are ballads but that song was originally done by an old k-rock band and Solar turned it into a tribute (parody? lol) to Blondie with Onewe playing the band in the MV. The other was 4 Season/Outro, the last song on White Wind, the last album n the 4 Season 4 Color project. Yes, album listens are a must. Not only do they not have a bad song, in many moomoos' opinion some of the b-sides are better than the title tracks. Solar sent the coffee trucks to the MV shooting locations for Wheein's Easy and Hwasa's Twit, their debut songs as solo artists. By contrast, she brought the cake to Moonbyul's dressing room for her solo debut song Selfish and she brought a bunch of pizzas for everyone on the set of her Eclipse MV. What I get out of that is with Moonbyul she shows up to be there for her best friend and with the younger members she sends a coffee truck to show her support but keeps her distance to let the kids do their own thing without mom looking over their shoulders. This is a great video about Mamamoo because the subtle dynamics of the group and Solar's leadership mostly go unnoticed in the midst of all the beagledol chaos and spectacular performances. Imo the dualistic personality of the group as ultimate pros and ultimate crackheads is a reflection of Solar's personality and her mom-style leadership. Solar's happy home is clean, neat & well-organized and she makes sure everyone's needs are met, that the kids do their homework, and that they have a safe, warm and loving environment to express their creativity. It's all based on their love, loyalty and implicit trust and faith in each other and I think it doesn't happen in a group of four uber-talented artists with very different, very strong personalities unless the leader shelves her own ego and works tirelessly to build the team chemistry. 💙😂

Haha, I remember how Byul was so tired filming Eclipse, she looked like she was about to fall over, but when Solar showed up, she literally ran and jumped into her arms😂😂 I guess she's " Solar-powered" lol (I have a super weak sense of humor, my sincerest apologies).

For the Solar is there even if she's not there sections, Solar rented an entire truck that has some snacks and primarily coffee (I believe? It's basically like a cafè truck). It's a general korean tradition to send food trucks for special people and considered as an expensive gift. 🥰

@@SinghReacts yeppp. I completely forgot the important part where it's a method of congratulating someone that reached a certain achievement so yeah. All the members went through hardships together. Wheein and Hwasa were recently in a tv show where they revisited the rooftop house all the members slept in when they were trainees/newly debuted and I was so shocked to see how incredibly small the space was and to think all of them had to fit in such a small room (not to mention the members mentioning in an interview how different insects like roaches would randomly be around since it was a rooftop home). I just have so much respect for the group and they continue to motivate me to strive to be better myself :')

oh, the song used at the beginning here is "it's been a long time", one of her 'solar's emotions' covers (the one that had pre-onewe onewe as her band). the video used while that was going on was from another of her 'solar's emotions' series... "lonely people", though it's only uploaded with the korean title on mamamoo's channel (it's the 5th upload in the series. though i believe the clip was actually a behind the scenes released elsewhere) and that bit with hwasa needing to be pulled up to be with the other members reminds me... mamamoo is *always* at the back or to the sides for music shows, award shows and the like unless they're up for the weekly prize (music shows) or similar. they prefer to not be the center of attention and basically be as close to the exit as possible so they can leave as soon as they feel it's appropriate (that said, despite being pretty much always the first to leave the stage they spend so much time in their dressing room that they're often among the last to leave the venue...) also, 'loser club' is a name the other three gave to themselves when they had to do a fanmeeting without solar. they swore without her they'd be boring... and basically losers... they immediately proved themselves wrong, of course, but the name stuck ha, the prank call with byul was supposed to do multiple things at once. it was byul's first solo live so she was really nervous. so solar decided to call her as encouragement, but also make it a prank, pretending to be 'moonbyul's number one fan, yong sunhae' specifically trying to get byul to say on air 'i love yong sunhae'. basically, 'i love yongsun'. but yeah, byul knew pretty much right away... solar had expected one of the staff to call and warn her when the phone was being handed to byul but instead they just handed it to byul as it was ringing, so solar answered in her real voice. the next bit there was during filming for "selfish". since byul was traveling around to shoot solar couldn't send a coffee truck like she did with wheein and hwasa, so she decided to surprise her with a personal appearance. (also, byul punching their manager like that reminds me that she often does that with her male friends... she was on a radio show hosted by her friend sandeul of b1a4 and punched him the same way because he made some lame joke or something... then remembered that there were fans lined up outside watching, so immediately turned around and apologized to them while sandeul just laughed his head off at the whole thing) the wheein segment with the teddy bear was the mv shoot for "easy". solar had sent her a personalized coffee truck full of the types of drinks she knew wheein liked (as well as stuff for the staff). she did similar for hwasa's "twit" and it's hard to see with the drum practice, but that's the other three members of mamamoo on the left, surrounded by some of their backup dancers, everyone listening to wheein learn to play and yeah, before they debuted, mamamoo was meant to be 5 members but one left shortly before they debuted to pursue other things. she was the eldest and was going to be the leader, so suddenly that dropped into solar's lap pretty much weeks before debut. solar is the youngest in her family, so never had any experience trying to lead or guide or anything (moonbyul is the eldest in hers so helped show solar how to handle some things... when she wasn't being a little shit and pranking her constantly) the show with heechul there is 'life bar', which has guest artists and the hosts sit around and talk about things (and the artists sing songs that are personal to them) while a mixologist creates drinks they think suit each individual guest. they all eat and potentially get a bit tipsy, depending on their alcohol tolerance and the strength of their individualized drinks. two members of mamamoo were on one episode alongside two members of apink and another episode had all 4 members together ...and yeah, the wheein's father's company thing was... crappy to say the least, but i don't blame the other family involved for it. her father kept using her name when he borrowed from them, going 'oh, my daughter is wheein of mamamoo, so i'm totally good for this. she has money so i can pay you back'. and when he didn't, of course they'd bring her up because he had constantly done the same... it's just her father's shittiness and the way the media instantly grasped onto that, hot to have any type of a scandal with a mamamoo member... but yeah, solar has zero qualms about making a fool of herself if that's what it takes to cheer the other members up

There’s a reason she is such a bias wrecker for me. She took up such a hard role for her but does it in a perfect way for the group. Her personality is also just so amazing she kills me, I fully fell for her when I watched her in we got married. The mix of cure and sexy and talent makes her the ultimate bias wrecker ❤️

It's a famous gift during filming to rent a whole food/coffee truck for the artist & the whole staff. It was started by Solar since Wheein was the first member to release a solo (Easy). Since then, every time there is a solo filming of each member, at least one of them will send over a food/coffee truck :)

Their Experience makes them “HUMBLE”

You should definitely watch mamamoo messing up/mistakes compilations because it's so rare and sometimes funny.

...one frustrating thing you'll learn while getting around to the albums of the various rbw artists... not only are all of their songs incredible, but even the intros and outros and other little things created specifically just to be a few seconds long are all so good they deserve to be full songs in their own right. i seriously cannot stop marveling at the creativity in that agency, both from their artists and those working behind the scenes with them
