To date, this is the best singing and stage presentation I've heard and seen from AN. No trace of the usual vulgar self. Brava.

La voce della Netrebko ascoltata dal vivo(per me la prima volta in questa Manon) e' stata un'esperienza esaltante.Netrebko ha una voce di bellezza rarissima e vi posso assicurare che in galleria arrivava con un volume impressionante..Il pubblico alla seconda recita e' rimasto elettrizzato,gli applausi erano scroscianti e non finivano mai.Anna sei davvero grande!!

Is this the Staatsoper in Vienna? I only just got tickets for her Manon Lescaut on June 23, this year. I paid a fortune for two really bad seats.

She sang this year in Wiener Staatsoper . She was so fantastic. And the tenor was Giordani. Both awesome.

Guys and Gals, funny how words can be misinterpreted. Once again, I found AN positively on the mark in this, vocally and interpretively. Fine, poised acting too, divorced from the usual vulgar stage persona. Are we clear now on what I meant by vulgar?

Fin'ora non ha ceduto alla tentazione d' intubare la voce e questa è una bella interpretazione, anche se manca l'intesità del pathos a causa del timbro. Cantare canta benissimo. Fate il tiro al piccione col tenore.

I strongly disagree. Yes, AN has a tendency to flaunt a high degree of vulgarity around in her persona. But there is no trace of that in this. To date, it's the best singing and stage presentation I've heard and seen from her.

SteveNelsonBrigade Think you misunderstood me. The vulgar bit is about the persona, not the voice. As I wrote, in this track she is splendid, the best I've heard from her.

Xing Mei Cai I mean unrefined, unpolished, approximate, coarse, of questionable style and questionable musicianship. Please listen to Zeani, Albanese, and Gheorghiu to see how this should be done the Italianate way.

Aria operistica di difficile interpretazione, la voce deve disegnare un' armonia che la musica spesso non sostiene!

vocalmente parlando è perfetta, suono morbido bellissimo..ma a me nn ha emozionato..e in quest'aria c'è tutto il personaggio di Manon l'impulsività,la voglia disperata della vita nella sua interezza,i suoi errori e soprattutto quel folle desiderio di far finta che tutto può ricominciare ....sempre e cmq....Sicuramente con altre produzione si immergerà meglio nell'eroina pucciniana.

La voce è voluminosa ma la fonazione è sempre fastidiosamente "alla russa"... Dopo averla sentita un'intera serata si torna a casa e rimangono in testa solo suoni gutturali da tacchino

Ai ,ai non ci siamo, non è un'opera per la Netrebko, manca il peso vocale anche se si impegna allo spasimo. Mi ricorda la Ricciarelli quando interpretava opere non adatte alla sua voce.

si infatti...voce molto bella ma non con la giusta veemenza di Manon pucciniana e secondo me, poco pathos! Almeno abituata a sentirne altre di Manon, ma comunque bella voce
