Solís: Pasaje Abierto - Prelude & Danza

Музыка

Tariq Harb performs 'Pasaje Abierto' composed by Edín Solís (b. 1963). This piece is comprised of two movements - a Prelude and a Danza. Both movements are performed in this video. I hope you enjoy them! :)
I had the pleasure of collaborating with guitarist and producer Drew Henderson recording a couple of videos recently. Drew is great to work with, and this video is the second video of our collaboration. The first one can be found here: • Bach: Fugue, BWV 1001 ...
Performer: Tariq Harb
Video and audio production: Drew Henderson
Guitar: Kenneth Hill, Performance Model
Strings: Savarez New Cristals

    Tariq I get chills every time I watch this video. This music sings to my heart. Thank You Tariq for introducing me to such a wonderful composition. I'm now learning it, and have worked my way through the Prelude, and will be starting the Danza soon. Is there any tidbits of advice you can give me for approaching the Danza, it looks challenging. And thank you again! - Bruce

    Hi Bruce! Thank you for your kind words. It is truly a beautiful piece! There are many things; tips, advices concerning the Danza, but honestly they are beyond the scope of online comments. I have to hear you playing, you have to hear me playing, then my advice/tips will be tailored to your playing, and obviously about the music in general. With comments like this I honestly don't know where to start. :D If you'd like to talk about it we can do Skype lessons. Let me know if that interests you! Thanks again!

    Beautiful job, I love your rendition! I have a question, if you can help me: In bars 52-53 of the score what is the note played on the first string? Maybe G sharp for 52 and F sharp for 53? In my score it seams to be some print mistakes regarding the upper note. Mauro from Italy

  • @tobims2
    @tobims26 жыл бұрын

    Dear Tariq Harb, I very love the sound of your interpretation so much. You seem to avoid playing "blank" strings whenever possible for that sound (that was what my guitar teacher always wanted me to, too ;) - and that was my first atttempt when trying to learn this piece ). But after playing around a while with different finger-settings... isn't it thinkable, playable, possible, to play the prelude (this ist the piece I am reffering) to sound like a harp on many places, to point much more out all the dissonants. To let 3 or 4 notes "... flow".... To do like this (using "free" strings" much more) seems on the first view "easier", but to let sound as a "harp" is not that easy... What do you think about this regarding this piece? By the way - together with Edson Lopes you are my first reference if i have to know, how a piece should (and could) sound, when i am discovering new pieces (as an amateur, that I am). So: thank you much for sharing all that you play.
