Today we'll be taking a closer look at the Sol-Ark 5K inverter, which is a great hybrid inverter system that can be used for a wide range of applications, including off-grid grid tie battery backup and ESS.
The Sol-Ark 5K is the smallest battery inverter that Sol-Ark offers, but it is still a powerful and compact option. The 5K can be used in a variety of applications, including off-grid systems, small-scale off-grid or standalone systems, tiny homes, off-grid cabins, shipping containers, and battery backup. It has a 120-volt single-leg output, with a 4,800-watt nominal AC output. However, it is possible to convert it to an 8K Sol-Ark, which has an 8,000-watt output at 240 volts single phase.
The 5K can handle a 10,400-watt maximum solar array and has two independent MPPT trackers. It also has a 50-amp rated AC pass-through and a 120-amp DC battery charger. It's stackable, and up to eight units can be used in parallel. This inverter has a 48-volt nominal DC battery input and is battery agnostic. It can be custom programmed to match and offers closed loop with several lithium battery manufacturers like Pytes, Discover, and Fortress.
The Sol-Ark 5K is compact, measuring about 26 and a half inches tall, roughly 16 and a half inches wide, and about nine and a quarter inches deep when wall-mounted. It weighs only 53 pounds and has a NEMA 3R rating, allowing it to be installed outdoors. It also has a touchscreen user interface and comes with all the necessary mounting hardware, including brackets and screws.
Finally, it comes with a battery temperature sensor, current limiting sensors, an inverter to inverter parallel communications cable, and a Wi-Fi dongle for remote monitoring on Power view.
