Soils For Life Documentary

Healthy and productive soils matter. Soil is one of the earth’s most important natural resources and is essential for healthy plant growth, food production and ecosystem services such as clean, plentiful water and air. Our soils help regulate the earth’s climate and they store more carbon than all the world’s forests combined, making soil regeneration fundamental in efforts to combat climate change and increasing extremes of weather.
We believe that by enabling and empowering farmers to rebuild and restore soils, Australia can mitigate and adapt to climate change and other challenges, while producing healthy, plentiful food and fibre in ways that are good for farmers, consumers and the planet.
The Soils for Life documentary outlines the vision and commitment of founder, Major General Michael Jeffery, to a food secure nation and sustainable farming communities.

Greetings from the LooseNatural farm in Andalusia Spain where we currently work hard to care for the soil.

It’s true soil is priceless. In my town arborist mulch is free and you can order unlimited. People kinda look at me like I’m weird. I’ve been spreading it over my land and it’s insane how much the land has already changed. 6 inches of mulch completely changes a depleted ecosystem believe it or not.

Great documentary folks. No nonsense, common sense and based on science. What this city person would like to understand better is whether our large agri businesses and especially those directed from overseas are actively looking to change soil health management away from monoculture methods and focus on soil health. Where are they at today (without criticism) and do they also have committed plans for sustainable soil health? I’m putting together a podcast - originally started with the “city” view of technology disruption and carbon capture- but now realising we have a systemic practice we need to shift If we are to restore our carbon cycle. You are the true “disruptor”

Upon my own research and stories of production in other fields of work, there's an alarming blindside being mistreated in regenerative farming. I'm not a very good readed and writer but very willing to share over a chat. My name's Tom Live in East Gippsland Victoria Australia

I abs love this mini doc. When we fix the soils, we will fix the agricultural system and eventually the health of the citizens. It's what Dr. Robert Lustig, MD says, that the health of a nation's people is a matter of national security and it must be everyone's top priority.

Regenerative Agriculture is the prescription for pastoral care of our planet. It can reclaim deserts permanently, improve nutrition and food availability, mitigate floods and droughts, clean up the water in our dams and rivers and preserve habitats and ecosystems. It is the complete answer to the climate change hysteria. *It is still not government policy.* It has the highest goal, Quality in every aspect which is also lower stress for the farmer, a remarkable development. Australians are leaders in the Science, Innovations, Practitioners, etc. Jehne, Jones, Massey, Seis, Maynard, Marsh, Andrews, Maslin, Haggerty, to name but a few. Well worth the deep dive, especially for parents of school-scared youngsters.

ps: the use of compost extracted sprays is the sign of a farmer who truly understands their role, however extract from BEAM has a higher fungal component. 8:01
