Reece grows corn, soybean, alfalfa, wheat, rye, barley, and oats in both conventional and organic systems. He began his regenerative journey by planting cereal rye as a cover crop in 2015 and has since added more crops into his rotation and started transitioning to organic. Reece has cut back nitrogen fertilizer on his conventional fields and is growing nitrogen for his organic crops. His innovative use of sap analysis, foliars, and livestock integration have helped him find success even as he scales back fertilizer usage.
