소향의 노력은 유명합니다. 여러 분야의 음악을 공부하기도 했고. 국악 성악도 공부 한걸로 압니다. 근데 타고 나기도 했어요. 대략 25-26년전 미국에서 부흥회에서 첨 봤는데 어렸던 소향이 그때도 너무너무 놀라운 소리를 보여줬던 기억이 납니다.

이 노래를 부르기전 불렀던 노래가 무려 'Dream'. 소향의 엄청난 보컬 스태미너를 확인할 수 있으므로 한번 보시기 바랍니다. 또 다른 휘트니 휴스턴의 노래 I will always love you 소향 커버(비긴어게인 코리아)도 추천드립니다. I have nothing은 휘트니 버전과 소향의 커버 버전은 차이가 있지만, I will always love you 는 휘트니 버전과 똑같이 진행됩니다. 참고로 소향의 I have nothing 이 커버 영상은 작곡가이자 프로듀서인 데이빗 포스터의 마음을 사로잡은 에피소드로도 유명합니다. 이 영상을 우연히 보게된 오프라 윈프리의 매니저가 오프라 윈프리에게 이 영상을 소개시켜 줬고, 영상에 감동받은 윈프리는 데이빗 포스터에게 영상을 추천하게 됩니다. 영상을 본 데이빗 포스터는 소향의 영상들을 찾아본 다음 수소문끝에 소향의 소속사에 연락해서 자신의 일본 초청공연에 여자 메이보컬로 초대하게 됩니다. 둘은 결국 2018.11.30~12.3 동안 블루노트 도쿄 30주년 기념 데이빗 포스터의 초청공연에서 I will always love you, I have nothing을 협연합니다. 아쉬운 점은 촬영이 제한된 공연이어서 풀영상은 없고, 인스타에 올라왔던 각 30초 영상만 유튜브에서 검색하면 볼 수 있습니다.

Sohyang's singing is shockingly beautiful. If a person has never heard her sing before it is truly a stop and listen moment, and she easily outperforms Whitney Houston. As Sohyang says, "You must be born with a good voice, but then work very hard to improve it." She apparently eats, sleeps and breathes music. Here is what David Foster, who wrote the song and produced it for Whitney, had to say about Sohyang in an interview with South Korean media site Naver on December 10, 2018, only a week after doing eight concerts with her at Tokyo's Blue Note Club. “I wanted to meet her very much, and I am delighted to have collaborated in putting together a concert. Here is how I got to know about Sohyang. Oprah Winfrey introduced me to 'a stunningly amazing singer whose video is a must watch.' I fell in love at once with Sohyang's first video I watched on KZread, 'I Have Nothing.' It was _thrilling,_ and I searched to listen to most of her other songs as well. I have wanted to meet her for a long time. She is one of the top divas I've come across." David Foster didn't hold back praise. "Her voice is very beautiful and overwhelming, and I found her every performance to be emotionally moving and amazing. Moving forward, I want to collaborate again!" It was actually Whitney Houston's former manager who found this performance on KZread and showed it to Oprah Winfrey. When David Foster contacted Sohyang the first time, he arranged for her to join him for a concert in Vancouver, BC, but she had to cancel out, probably because of her problems with pneumonia. As you doubtless know, David Foster is from Victoria! Sohyang also broke her foot in 2018, so that may have had something to do with the cancellation of the Vancouver concert. If I am ever so lucky as to have a conversation with her I will ask her about it and let you know. And if you three ladies meet her you can find out first hand! She does "meet and greets" after many concerts and is apparently as personable and gracious a woman as you will ever meet. And she speaks excellent English with a perfect North American accent. Her IQ must be enormous! 🤷‍♂👌💘

원곡은 키가 낮고 고음이 올라가는가싶은데 그냥 내려와버리고 별로임, 근데 소향 버전은 한키 높여 시작해서 최고의 고음까지 호흡조절해서 악기소리로 이어져 끝까지 음이 안떨어짐,, 휘트니보다 뭐를봐도 절대 뒤지지 않음,,그래서 세계 전문가들이 세계 최고라 인정하지 않았던가!!!?
