The SOG Seal XR has a USA ground USA CPM steel blade. Some of the handle components are USA made as well. Some of the handle components are produced overseas. All of the parts are shipped here and the entire knife is assembled in Seattle, Washington. It is basically USA made.

Thanks for the great and honest review I enjoyed it and I bought one and absolutely love it. It is what a knife should be in my opinion not a whole lot it can’t handle. Tired of hearing its to heavy and to aggressive with the jimping. It’s well made and I think the best thing SOG has manufactured in a very long time .

Size, weight and cost are all subjective to the buyer. I completely agree with your assessment. I'm still carrying this SOG daily!

I bought 6 terminus xr. Gave them to family members. My nephew beats his up at work everyday and actually swapped out his Z.T 0200 for the terminus I gave him. And I ended up buying the new carbon fiber S35VN model. And I still edc my crimson red. Also have my benchmade 940-2 in my pocket and still prefer to use my S.O.G terminus over my 940.

I have it and I'm really impressed and happy with it. The only other SOG I've ever liked was the seal team. The flash 2 was disappointing.

I felt the same brother. Still do actually. This one is different. Let's see if they can keep it going.

You have to get a terminus xr in your hand. It's a small tank in your hands. I still gotta try out the Seal. But it must be a full sized tank. If it's anything like my terminus. In September my son turns 4 and I got a crimson red g10 still in the box unopened waiting for him. Of course I won't just give him full access to it but he sees me wit mine and always tells me daddy I really like your knife. So I can't wait for him to open his up. And to be clear I have no relationship wit S.O.G other than I bought there knives.

I ordered one looks solid. I'm so sick of bending tips and failing mechanisms on folders. Even expensive ones. This should withstand some actual work

This model with any name on the blade would still be a great knife.

I remember seeing them replying to someone asking where it was made and they said it was completely made in the US not just US produced steel.

Haven’t had a notion to buy a SOG since the 1990’s when I had a Tomcat 3.0 Liked it well enough that it made me long for the Fatcat until the Krayton handles succumbed to a bit of oil residue in a toolbox drawer yielding a tacky handle that couldn’t be cleaned. This looks promising but I’m totally baffled by their made in China logic (or seeming lack thereof...) Did you see the knifecenter exclusive Kershaw Bareknuckle in 20CV for $120 yet? It’s a dlc blade which doesn’t thrill me but it’s visually matched to a coated sub-frame lock mechanism. Looks like KAI is upping the ante in the Kershaw line.

Ive got one and while i do love the knife after having it for a few days it has gotten extremely hard to actually use the flipper tab to open the knife. its still just as easy to pull the lock back and wrist flick open but would be nice to be able to use the flipper tab

Sounds like a slight adjustment is necessary. I would start my loosening the pivot and retightening. Also, even your scale/frame screws can actually cause an issue with the action. Make sure they are all snug as well.

Yea I took it completely apart and cleaned everything and put it all back together and same issue. Maybe I have a dud. Other than that I love everything else

Only 15% of manufactured products have to be done in the United States in order to put Made in the USA on the product. Yes it's BS but such is life.

It's Definitely a nice knife . I got mine from EBay a few weeks ago , brand new in box for $155.00 . It feels great in my XL hands , and I don't mind the FRN because it won't wear out like g10 does , it will be grippy for a long , long time . Just 2 things that do bother me is #1 the bearings , I wish it had washers , true hard use knives use washers , they are definitely the way to go in my opinion and #2 mine has a hard detent , I really have to press on that flipper hard , so hard that I just use the XR lock to open it now , but that doesn't bother me too much because the knife opens and shuts soo smoothly . The funny thing to me is , Sog had to copy the Axis lock in order to finally make a good lock and a few decent knives like this knife and the Terminus XR , I have the D2 model. Is this knife as good as the CS Recon 1(for twice the $$) or the AD10 ?? I would say it's close , but NO , those bearings are going to fail waay before washers will ~

It's hard to beat the AD-10 with TriAd lock!
