Software Tools vs Satin Stitch - Beginners Embroidery Digitizing Lesson
Join John in this week's beginner embroidery digitizing quick tip video, where he dives into different ways you can embroider simple shapes using your embroidery software. While there are easier and harder ways to create shapes with your embroidery software, John proves that manual digitizing (in this case using the satin stitch) often leads to much better results!

Thank You John! Appreciate the comparison between the two ways to digitize the design.
Thank you John, every bit of information helps with understanding why we need to perhaps think of another way to do something to get a better result. Certainly if one has a 'feel' that it could be improved, try it- nothing to lose.
Thanks John! Satin stitching outlines is what I'm currently battling with, using the software I currently have, and quickly understanding the limitations of such programs. I started experimenting first using the free, My Editor software and quickly ran into the wall of it's editing limits. Then I bought Janome's Digitizer Jr V5 software, and also found its limitations. (and ironically enough, in some respects, is more restrictive than the free previously mentioned software) Between the two programs, I could probably achieve the results I'm after, but it would mean literally manually moving thousands of stitches. Now I'm working on purchasing a copy of their Digitizer MBX V4 software, and will hopefully be able to create the digitizing files I'm trying to create, of course, utilizing many of the tips you've expressed throughout your videos. (I'm not doing machine embroidery for profit/business. Strictly just a personal hobby, so I'm trying to keep expenses under control)
Thanks, wonderful ❤️
Thank you John, I often opt for digitizing blocks as I prefer the 'smoother' shape it seems to give over variable widths. It is lovely to understand the 'why' now, thanks to you...
Always learn great stuff from your videos! Thanks!
Thanks John well explained and easy to follow
Always great info thanks
Very informative.
when you are manual punching do you have a set amount of blocks you create i.e. less blocks on a long straight edge or are more blocks better?
