Software Simulation in Storyline

Thanks for being here. Check out my maker hackLAB Channel kzread.info?sub_c...
Once you've recorded a video, you can reinsert it at any time as an interactive simulation.
In this Storyline tutorial, you’ll learn how to record screencasts and turn them into interactive software simulations that span a series of step-by-step slides in Articulate Storyline 360. The power of screencasts in Storyline is that you only have to record your screen once, then you can reuse the same recording again and again-either as a video on a single slide or as a series of interactive step-by-step slides.
You can insert the same Articulate Storyline 360 screencast into your course multiple times. For example, let's say you recorded a software simulation. You can insert it as a video on a single slide to show learners how to perform a process, then you can insert it again as Try Mode step-by-step slides to give learners an opportunity to practice.

Two things I'm obsessed with: SPSS and Storyline lol. Thanks for the video.

Thanks for the demo! Kinda ironic watching a YT video on how to create e-learning stuff. I used Articulate like 12 yrs ago before Storyline, when it was just a glorified version of powerpoint. Then moved onto Captivate to make software simulations, and then Camtasia to make software training videos. Now I'm needing to make scorm compliant software simulations and trying to decide between the value of Storyline vs Captivate...

This is such a useful tool. I have a question about localizing. If I were to localize this file, the software screen itself would still be in English. Do you have any recommendations on how to swap out the recording with a recording of the localized software screens? Essentially, I need both the software and the directions localized. I have access to the localized software, but I'm trying to figure out the easiest way to localize the entire interaction.

Storyline has a Localization Tool Built in - Export Transcript, Translate, Upload Back in. Even changes UI.

Is there a way to add type form fields for the learner to do, instead of clicking and the hot spot fills in the blank in the "try me" version of the slides? I want the learners to type on the screen simulations instead of clicking and auto-fill. Thanks
