Thank you for the videos! Theyve been a great help with my little project. Found a shrew yesterday and figured if there was ever a time to learn now'd be the time!

Thank you so much for this great video I can't wait to follow all your instructions on the next coyote. I used the same tanning solution as you do on my last one but didn't do the same process as you.

Great video! Thank you! It is very hard to find these kinds of videos. I just started trapping and was shocked how much it cost for me to send 5 beavers to Moyles !! Shipping alone is thru the roof!

Thank you too. I got some beaver pelts I will be doing a video on here soon. Yes paying the tannery, shipping and such adds up. Keep up and good luck trapping.
Quyana for your videos! 👍
Great info I use the same the orange bottle just got done doing the white tail tip coyote I got the other week. Fleshed it with a electric pressure washer turned out pretty good 👍. Thanks for sharing buddy 👍🤘💯🇺🇸

Yes pressure washing does a really good job. Rinses a lot out of the skin, which is good. Thanks for watching and feed back.

Will you please do another video starting from the beginning process of how you Tan a Coyote hide? I watched your videos on the otter and you explained it very well. I am not sure if you do the exact same process on the Coyote!

I know I'm working on getting better at this LOL! But yes same process for Coyotes, Bobcats, Fox, Raccoon, Beaver, Otter and such. I got some beaver pelts coming up next and will try to cover all that. Thanks
Gonna have to get me one of them fleshing systems! But shhheewwww $$$
I tan mine the same as you. Question I have is when all done can I wash the hide one last time? For some reason some still have a smell to them ,,maybe the tanning solution? I am scared to get it wet again after all that work. And yes I washed the hides many times before I put the solution on,,,they were clean as can be.

Some smell more than others I have noticed at times. I let them just air out over the next week or two. Another trick is you can use Oder Ban on them. Spray hair side out. Ol' stinky yotes LOL but love the fur. Thanks for watching and hope that helps.
I have a question. What tanning solution do you put your hides in before fleshing more off the hide? Also, if I needed to wash my hide, at what part during this process should I wash it

What kind of softening oil do you add?
@carolinabushwacker
Жыл бұрын
The orange bottle in the video is what I use for softing oil. Tanning is done before with a different product that I will be bringing a video on.
I know nothing so this is a serious question. Would it work to put it in the dryer on fluff, no heat, to break it up?
@carolinabushwacker

No because it has to be slow and needs paddles in it to break it. I'm building a tumbler and will make a video going over it. keep a eye out for it.

@carolinabushwacker thank you. I so appreciate it. We watched all 4 of your videos on soft tanning a raccoon last night so now she wants to try it. I'm having a hard time reading the label on the tanning solution you use though. Is there any chance you could reply with a link to the product or tell me where you purchase it? I've found a few different homemade recipes online but I'd like to use something with more reliable results first.
