Oh boy, even though I watched this when it was first uploaded. I couldn’t resist leaping back into this, might even be my third time watching it. QL was very much part of my TV viewing in the 90s, so there’s a healthy dose of nostalgia to this. Plus shirtless Scott Bakula is always a bonus. As ever when people are clearly passionate about a subject matter, it shows and just helps the viewer (hey, that’s me) engage with the video. This was a well paced episode, the leaping and costume changes was a neat touch.

How perfect was that? I absolutely did not expect anything that I got to see from this video! I expected a review of Quantum Leap. "You know what, I actually just had to take a moment. the nostalgia took me over so hard that I actually became choked up. When I was a child, I spent a lot of time with my grandparents. I would give lots of things to go back and watch this show with them again. Okay. Sappy sad time over" I'm just blown away on how much time has been invested in this video. the leap, the characters, the OH BOY, the story telling. I appreciate you.

Awesome vid Bouphe, these keep getting better and better. Quantum Leap is one of those shows I have fond memories of, not just from the episodes but it was one of those shows as a kid I would sit with my mum and watch, chewing on some popcorn and having my tiny mind blown at each "oh boy" ending. When it ended I was gutted, not only because of the show had finished but because it became such a part of my weekly life, every Tuesday it was Quantum Leap and popcorn with Mum and it was like, what do we do now?.. Luckily we didn't have to wait too long as X-files turned up soon after. I had some weird TV habits as a kid, Quantum Leap, X-files and Star Trek with Mum and Twin Peaks, Rab C Nesbit and Bottom with Dad. If it wasn't for me waking up early on a Sunday to watch Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors I would have had nothing to talk about with my friends in the playground. Thanks for the reminder of some good times Bouphe. Keep these vids going, you put a lot of love into them and it shows, it also looks a lot of fun putting them together.

This was wonderful, Bouphe. I've never seen "Quantum Leap," but now I want to. Big thanks to you, Alex, and Joe for all the hard work that clearly went into this video! It's kind of funny knowing that both leads went on to space-faring projects in the early 2000s. It took me a bit to realize that Al was Cavil/Cylon #1, though - Dean Stockwell had quite the acting range, it seems. If you need more Scott Bakula in your life and haven't watched "Chuck," I highly recommend it (even though he was only in a handful of episodes). Actually, a lot of big names including Carrie-Anne Moss, Linda Hamilton, Tony Todd, and Timothy Dalton make appearances throughout the series, so there's probably a bit of Hollywood in it to fit everyone's tastes.

Incredible work, Bouphe (and Alex and Joe). Well worth the long wait :) All that work you put into it, and all the costumes, has definitely paid off. When I was little I watched random episodes of Quantum Leap on German TV because it was the only option for us, and I honestly didn't get what it was about then - either cuz I was too young or didn't understand the German dub well enough. Rewatched it (in original English this time) when you first started talking about this project and it does make a bit more sense when you're older, sort of. But even if I didn't get it when I was little, it's one of those shows I've always remembered because it's so different. They dared to try new things and pushed subjects no one else would touch, and that is very rare for American made TV.

@@Bouphe It was a good ending. The last line is, "Sam never returned to his own time." Basically, once he realised he was in control of the leaps, he spent the rest of his existence, to this point anyway, they are still talking about a revival of the show, to correct the wrongs. It's fitting that it "ends" with fixing Al's timeline and then starts his new journey and beyond.

Awesome video Bouphe! I can't believe you got your own Quantum Leap effect - it's spot on. I am sadly old enough to remember QL when it was on originally. You have good taste in episodes. I have to say, my least favorite episode of the series is Dreams. The tone just doesn't fit with the rest of the series. Just throwing that out there. But I made a list of my favorite episodes and then narrowed it down to my Top 10. I cheated just a little bit, but hey, it its my list, so I am allowed. First though, an Honorable mention. I love the episode Freedom. Sam leaps into an Indian that is trying to help his hosts Grandfather, or Kenu, get back to the Indian Reservation to die. It was hard for me to remove this episode because Kenu is so funny. But, what are ya going to do? But my top 10 are as follows. 10) A Hunting We Will Go. Sam leaps into a Bounty hunter that has met his match with a Woman that he is tasked to bring in after she stole a million dollars from her boss. Really funny and Scott has great chemistry with Jane Sibbett, the actress that plays his Prisoner Diane. 9)Leaping of the Shrew. With Brooke Shields, they do a play on her Movie The Blue Lagoon where they get shipwrecked and Sam has to get Vanessa Foster to admit she could be in love with a Greek shipman. All around fun episode and I loved The Blue Lagoon, so I have always enjoyed this episode. 8)Honeymoon Express. Just all around a really enjoyable episode. I love the ones where we glimpse the future and again, the chemistry between Scott and his co-star, Alice Adair is on point. Love the little bit at the end with the Senator. 7)M.I.A. it hurts to put this one so low on the list. I love the episode, The final scene with Al and Beth, That is the heart and soul of Quantum Leap. But Ultimately, it is mostly the end of the episode that makes it so good in my eyes and there are others that the episode as a whole was better even if they didn't have as good a scene. 6) The Leap Back: So, I have to split this from Shock Theater. I love this episode. It is such a great dynamic swapping Sam and Al. But ultimately, there are a couple that I just love that I go back to occasionally to watch. I will watch Shock Theater as a stand alone episode. 99% of the time, I will watch The Leap Back immediately after, but I won't watch The Leap back without first watching Shock Theater. 5) Killin’ Time. This episode is Excellent. The future stuff, Al physically risking his life for Sam and everything with it. It is just so good. 4) The Curse of Ptah-Hotep. Now, I am a History Buff and I love Egyptology. This episode for me is a Given. I also love that Sam is able to easily slip into his hosts life and not miss a beat. 3) Shock Theater. This one is so good. Brings us back to prior leaps. Showcases Sam's acting chops. What is not to love? 2) A Leap for Lisa. Far and away the best stand alone episode. Sam leaping into Al, then messing things up. then fighting to get Al back before he forgot him. Brilliant on a bunch of levels. 1) Trilogy. Ok, so this one might be cheating because it is split into three episodes. But, it is told as one long story. You see how the people have changed over the course of Abigail's life, Then realizing that he fathered Sammy Jo. The third part was always my favorite, but the whole Trilogy was, in my opinion, the best of Quantum Leap.

Great video. I'm a huge fan of Quantum Leap and am looking forward to and hoping that the forthcoming reboot is great too. You didn't mention it in the video. So I don't know if you know. But I remember hearing that the reason we got the ending we got in the final ever episode is because the makers of the show had plans for a season 6. But then the show was abruptly cancelled and with no time for a rewrite. So we got the ending we got including the captions about Beth never remarrying, her and Al having a long and happy marriage with kids and Sam never returning home. Oh, and the first episode where Sam leaps into Jimmy, the guy with Downs Syndrome. Whenever they do a full re-run of Quantum Leap on TV. They ALWAYS skip over that episode. And I'm guessing that it's because in today's culture. They'd have to edit the episode to within an inch of its life to avoid getting complaints.

When I initially started this I was unaware of the reboot and still don't know much about it or how it will be in comparison to the original but I'm hoping it'll be amazing either way! It's a shame it's skipped over because it's so good
