Sofirn IF25A review - Affordable and pockatable 21700 quad SST20 flashlight!

Hello Guys, Flashlight Enthusiast here! Today I take a look at Sofirn IF25A, Anduril version of their famous IF25 that could change LED tint. This version shares the same body but features 4 SST20 in same CCT and my favourite Anduril UI. Enjoy!

I don't know if it will be of interest to you but the pocket clip from the astrolux S43S fits the IF25A perfectly.

The Sofirn clip for the SP35/SP35T works for the IF25/IF25a as well. I agree that Sofirn should've added a magnetic tailcap option for this.

Hey great videos. I’m really curious about learning how to mod flashlights. Like how did you know a 20A battery would work with this light and not destroy the light? Where is a good place to learn things like that? Or which LEDs are good to swap in certain lights?

Thank you! I would start with Budget Light Forum there is lots of specific knowledge there. Other mods are also a great source of inspiration. Have fun!

Just start learning entry level electrical engineering. From an electronics perspective, a device will only draw as many amps as it needs, so even if a battery is rated for 20A, but the device only needs 5A, it will draw 5A. The rating is more or less then limit that a power supply can provide. Think about cell phone charges vs fast chargers. One simply allows for higher amps to be drawn, but that doesn’t mean it will constantly be pulling that much, it’s just a higher ceiling. The only real danger when getting into high amp devices is that in the event of a short circuit somewhere, the more amps you have, the “worse” it’ll be. Components will heat up and burn faster and are more likely to be dangerous

Why did the lh351d not work out? Im planning to reflow some dogfarts on my if25a.

Beam pattern was ugly, as optics base was not wide enough to accomodate wider LH351D... shame

SP33S hands down, unless you need a high CRI beam. You get sustainable output, better runtime and simple UI instead of Anduril

Hard to tell, as there are no set modes in Anduril. I would say it should last around 3-4h on around 300 lm setting?

I just bought exactly the same torch as you. Can you tell me if you've tried it in bad weather? I bought it hoping the 4000K would be the most useful LED for fog or mist.

  • @FlashlightEnthusiast

Yes, in foggy conditions warmer tint tends to penetrate the air better, as it reflects less from humid air. 4000K should be much better than 6500K in this regard
