I definitely like the D25L better because of its higher CRI and softer hotspot. This is for working on the house and for field reading; D10S may be better for hiking. Thank you for helping me decide.

There is no D10S flashlight, only D10 with a fake XML2.

Thank you for the comparison. I have the D25S and I'm quite happy with it, especially for the price I paid. I was hoping to see a more diffused beam pattern on the D25L, but it looks pretty much the same, just slightly less bright but with much better color rendering. For me it's not so important as I just got it for occasional work projects around the house, but I could definitely see the benefit of the high cri of the D25L for hunter's. I wish Sofirn would have offered it with the Samsung leds back when I purchased mine, that would have been a no brainer.

Thanks for the video! The difference in CRI isn't as dramatic as I would have liked. Kind of wish they went with 2 SST-20s (in preferably 4000K) instead of the 2 LH351Ds. Still looks like a great headlamp for the price.

Too long ago to remember what I used, but it wasn't the Sofirn batteries, not that it would make any difference considering they don't need high amps. Just get a 5+ amp high capacity 18650. I bundle the D25LR in my store with the Molicel M35A and Sanyo NCR18650GA.

how long this headlamp run with some 3000mAh battery? can this headlamp survive under rainy days?

I tested the D25S with a 3500mAh battery and got just over 3 hours on High. This is measured under the ANSI FL1 standard, if you aren't familiar with how that's measured, watch this - kzread.info/dash/bejne/ooWatdePqKmeZ7Q.html

I presume so, Sofirn only say CW, there's no temp spec. It's not as cool white as some 6500k SST40's I have

@@PiercingTheDarkness I actually emailed Sofirn a couple weeks ago on this and they said the D25S with the SST40s is 5000K.
