You have to aim it well in that first corner at 4:18 but if you get a good exit corners 2 and 3 kinda automatically flow from that and are easy flat witn that much aero. And if you get through corner 3 properly corners 4 and 5 might as well not exist (almost a straight line through them with minimal steering correction). So yes, it's definitely impressive but hardly world-shattering. It's harder to get through that section fast with a car with less or no aero because it loses a lot of weight (and grip) at turn 2 because you're going steep downhill.

You know when people have absolutely no clue when they measure a track car's performance by their top speed. The grip this car has, all thru an entire corner.. All the downforce. It's not the topspeed that makes this car amazing (it's still incredible) It's the way it handles. Then there's the people that say " You can see it's sped up by the way it looks " - Love how these people make a statement as if it's a fact, not even questioning. So certain, yet so ignorant.

I saw some people in chat claiming the video is sped up LMAO This car is the Porsche 919 Evo. It's what you get when you give a bunch of motorsports engineers a huge budget to build a Le Mans car but follow none of the rules. There are some fascinating videos floating around about it. It's faster around a circuit than a modern formula one car. It's got all the power (and then some) and loads more downforce. It was basically built by porsche just to flop their massive dick on the table and show what they're capable of making. EDIT: All of the above was true until the 2018 Belgian grand prix. That year, Sebastian Vettel lapped 1:41.5, vs the 1:41.7 lap set by the 919 Evo. At the time the record was set, the previous record was held by Lewis Hamilton in a W09 mercedes F1 car, with a lap time of 1:42.55. The current lap record of 1:41.252 is held by Lewis Hamilton, in last year's W11. Let's keep in mind, however, that Lewis and Seb are multiple-time Formula 1 champions, who are/were in some of the fastest cars on the grid. No offense to Neel Jani, but I'm very curious if they would have been able to perform any better in the 919.

@@Beny88pl I don't exactly know where you're getting that info from, from what I've seen the fastest F1 time around Spa was a 1:41:25 by Hamilton last year which is about half a second faster than the 919 Evo's 1:41:77 and you have to consider that the Porsche runs are over 3,5 years old already. When Porsche did the runs it was the fastest time around Spa at the time, but when F1 came to the track a couple months later Vettel set a quicker lap with 1:41:5. I think it's hard to say which one was faster exactly, an F1 car or the 919 Evo, we don't know how much either left on the table and I can't be bothered to check if Vettel got a boost on the straight which the 919 obviously didn't have the luxury of getting so I believe it's fair to say the 919 Evo was quicker than an F1 car around Spa, but in reality the margins are too slim to know which one was actually faster.

As a racing nerd, many people have no idea how insane this is. The G-Forces on the driver are enough to knock a normal person unconscious and/or seriously injure them. The 919 EVO is essentially an LMP1 (for those who don’t know that was the fastest ever class in WEC and perhaps the fastest race cars in its time bar maybe F1) on steroids, creating huge amounts of downforce for crazy low drag. And this track is by far one of the most dangerous in the world. The sheer balls to do this is insane and shows incredible talent. Also had a top speed of around 370 kph, which is well over 220 mph

Even if a F1 engine would last over 5000km it still is not even close! The circuit at Le Mans has a mind blowing 85% full throttle rate. Not even Monza can beat that with only 84% full throttle per lap. The amount of beating that little V4 can take without dying is astonishing. There are other factors that matter. The 919 weights around 840kg without driver, while the current Mercedes W12 F1 car weights around 750kg including the driver. This makes around 150kg difference. So Porsche drives the same lap times at Spa-Francorchamps with a car that weights 20% more! Nothing to add...

@@SnaxDesAvions There's a difference between aerospace G forces and motorsport G forces, people seem to forget this. 1) Aerospace forces are ALWAYS (okay let's say not always but 99% of cases) linear and going in one direction at a time, head to toe. Because if you think about it, when you turn the jet fighter, you don't turn it left to right, you lean left and then pull up, so if feels like you're pulling up regardless of direction you're going, and the bulk of G forces is always going from head to toe, which is the easiest to deal with for the human body, as the body is BUILT to deal with gravity which also pulls you in that direction. The only time they feel forces not going head to toe in aerospace is when they launch a rocket or when the jets accelerate, but those forces aren't that severe, they feel about 4G peak for a very short time during stage one on rocket launches, but most of the time the force is around 2G. Race cars make you feel G forces in all directions. There's a big difference between feeling 10G in a fighter jet going head to toe, when your head is just being pushed down into the neck but still supported by the skeleton, and 6G in a formula 1 car going through a corner where your head is literally being pulled off sideways, in an unnatural way that the human body is not built to deal with and not supported by the skeleton, but by your muscles only. It's far more difficult for the race drivers. 2) Other than direction of forces, the forces in aerospace are SMOOTH. If you think about it, a jet doesn't jump around or shake or do sudden movements, even the fastest direction changes are smooth and forces are fairly constant after the initial burst. In a race car, you're shaking all over the place in 10 different directions on top of feeling the G forces when turning or when braking. So that also puts much more strain on the body as you have to fight against those forces constantly. To me going through a corner at 6 or 6.5G in an F1 car while also hitting a curb and hitting the bumps, with the whole car violently jumping up and down, is far more impressive than a jet fighter feeling 10G during a lift for example.
