About me:
Hey loves! My name is MyAnh and I am Social worker trying to rid the world from terror. My channel will be focusing on bringing awareness to the social work career field and life style content. I would love to use my channel to bring awareness to what social work is because the term social work has had a bad stigma in our society of just taking kids away from their family. I’m here to tell you all that there is more to social work than what the world portrays the career to be. Please come along for the journey and like and subscribe to my channel!

Hi MyAnh! Fellow MSW social worker here! Loving your videos and binge watching them rn. Out of grad school (I graduated 5/2019), I took a job as a medical social worker. It always intrigued me as well! I stayed there for a little over a year, but it was ultimately not for me. I would say that it’s much fast paced and chaotic working inpatient. I worked outpatient (but did inpatient on some weekends), and that was definitely better than inpatient just because it was a little more slower paced, more self managed, and you also have that continuation with most patients as they come back periodically to see their PCP. I found your videos thru the case management ones you have, as I just took a county job in the community services board , working as a therapist/case manager for youth and family. I gotta say, from my experience, hospitals don’t pay nearly as well as other SW jobs (especially Gvmt ones). I’d love to connect and chat more as we seem to have similar life paths!

New subscriber to your channel. Congratulations on your new job. Happy it is the job you have been striving for. I understand working in fast paced environment that it can be hard to adjust to. Having to remember to be gentle with yourself and remembering that you will get it can be hard to remember. Looking forward to more story ones even if it is not filmed in the hospital.

Margie, thank you so much for your kind words. You are absolutely right where I need to be gentle to myself. I can't wait to see what kind of content I will be able to create for you all to see working in the hospital.

@@MyAnhLuong Of course. I get frustrated too if I don’t get things right away. It sounds like there is a lot to know for this new job. Looking forward to more content.

Hi MyAnh, I worked in a few hospitals and I just want to tell you that it is not you at all. Hospitals are always so fast paced and chaotic! Training is the worse part of it all and so much to learn. I left the hospital field and got into non profit and I am much happier. Just give it a year and than evaluate if it is for you. P.S. I love that you make these genuine and sincere videos!

Hi Ramie! Thank you for your input and I’m glad that I’m not the only thinking or feeling this way. I really do appreciate it. It’s funny because everyone is saying give it time and see how it goes lol. But thank you so much for your thoughts.

Hey, I was wondering if you were able to work as a social worker while getting ur MSW degree? Thanks!

Personally I was not able to because I was a full time student, field placement hours and a graduate assistant. I didn't have the time to have a full time or part time job. But it's possible as long as you're efficient with time management.
