We went on a social walk with an american akita so we can train with Haku. And afterwards we met his best friends. All the akitas except the american akita were girls. Haku doesn't get along with most of the male dogs.

unsocialized my male hard and full on from 3 mos of age. he's been good until now, about 1 year and 4 most. now, unuetred males that are about his size or larger will show hostility towards him. he's good with females, small dogs, and even small unuetred males with the other unuetred males, he doesn't initiate the dominance aggression, they other ones will start to started and growl at him. it's only them he will rumble back.
They don’t always get a long. I have a male Japanese one and started socializing at age of 4 months. Still don’t get along with some dogs and fine with some others. I don’t expect him to like all dogs 🤷♂️

Can I ask why you waited so long? (I started my shiba Inu early with family/friends dog whom were already vaccinated - and started a puppy class early because he had displayed some aggression early on).

Why did the American Akita not get along with them, but all the other Akitas get along so well together? Do all those dogs still get along?

american akita is not pure. they bred several other breeds into it to make it more beefy and reactive and way bigger.

Short answer; no. Not really. Akita personalities are quite complex. My Japanese Akita just this afternoon rejected with hostility a beautiful female Akita. I berated him for his nasty behavior and low EQ
