I am sure a lot more would have but showing public affection like hugging is not in India culture much. However it is wonderful to see Indians become so accepting and hope they continue to progress. Prior to the British, our culture was open to same sex attraction, we accepted that it existed. Sadly the British changed all that and it is difficult to change something that where you are brainwashed over and over that is not normal. It happens so how can it not be normal. Just awesome to see the response you got! Wonderful! I hope India continues to progress and prosper. Everyone deserves to be happy!

People who don't hug him doesn't mean they hate him. You nearly forgot that we Asians, we rarely hug even our closest friends and family members. It somehow makes an Asian uncomfortable. For Asians, hugging is considered as an intimate act, and it may cause discomfort to people.
