I'm not even aussie, but hearing the commentator shout "He didn't need te support! He did it all on his own!" after that amazing dribble and scoring the goal that took Australia to the round of 16 is still one of my favourites world cup moments

It's shocking to see how fallen Denmark has been in just a year! They were semi-finalists in Euro 2020, twice beating France, causing many hardships to Croatia, only to see them fallen in the World Cup.

When arrived in Copenhagen they didn't meet the press. They just sneaked out through a backdoor at the airport and disappeared. So I guess the didn't enjoy the flight back and arrival in Copenhagen😂

Coming back to this again. I was one of thousands standing in Federation Square in Melbourne at 2am on a week night going off my head when Leckie scored his goal. Started work at 7am with no sleep, but a massive smile on my face. What a campaign.

I’m from Ireland and I’ve been going for ye this World Cup because my country haven’t qualified and I really like the Austrian people and ye have great fans unlucky losing to Argentina most teams would have gone out to them and ye where not hammered ye put up a great match and ye should go into your next tournament heads held high

@ben, Geographically Australia belong to their own continent, which is Australia/ Oceania Continent. But in football competition, they are part of AFC (Asian Football Confederation), that's why they represent Asian country in this tournament.

In terms of skills and tactics, Australia is nowhere there compared to Europeans but they are very athletic and hardworking. Kept pressing and kept chasing. Against a team like that, it is difficult to play. One moment of brilliance by Leakey and they won because you cannot beat their discipline and work rate.
