I think one thing that can happen is we forget things we enjoy doing outside of drinking. Are there things you enjoy so much that they make you forget about booze? Seems like finding/remembering those things is key to finding happiness and direction again. Congrats on 18!

Im 1 year and 1week , it only gets easier keep going . The pain of the change is easier than that of staying the same.

Nearly at day 7 of Dry July - feeling better, minimal cravings and saving money... no downside at all

Flat mood is very common my friend. Only lasts around 30 days until your dopamine receptors start repairing pretty rapidly.

Good work. Keep it up. Your mood will come back. Took me a couple of months to fully stabilize mood and sleep. Much better after a few weeks. Feel great now. Your GABA receptors are probably re-regulating. Think of it like a see saw. Your brain wants to be in equlibrium with its mood chemicals. It wants to be level but if you keep tipping it wildly one way then it will over compensate the other way for a while and take a while to settle down. I had hellish insomnia. That was what did it for me. That and the dull ache in my RHS. Good luck.
