How not to give a try with this iconic song from Tool and Danny Carey's drum fill at the beginning of the song.. I'm not sure if it's 100% accurate but I think I'm not far from the idea. The groove in the verses, the hi-hat figure interlaced with kick/snare pattern brings this song to a state of continuous tension. And it's not that simple to play with consistency through all the song; try it out once you figured it out from this video.
No editing, no trigger, all done in one take (all mistakes kept, nothing has been fixed)

I really dig watching your covers Alessandro and you have that enviable deft touch enabling you to extract every nuance from your PAISTE cymbal array. This was the first TOOL song I heard when ‘Undertow’ was released and that bass line is still killer today. Danny Carey is undeniably awesome, but he also has that rare ability to create an original, tasty and memorable drum hook for defining each TOOL drum track he composes.
