SOBBING at the EMOTIONAL ENDING | Final Fantasy XVI (FFXVI, Final Fantasy 16, FF16) | FINALE

Ойындар

Welcome to my BLIND first playthrough of Final Fantasy XVI (FFXVI)! Not only is it my first playthrough of Final Fantasy 16 (FF16) but it is also MY FIRST EVER FINAL FANTASY GAME! I'd never played any FF game because I didn't grow up playing the franchise and then after a while it felt like it was just so big that it was almost inaccessible. My community recommended I play the demo to this game since it plays differently from other Final Fantasy games, and I'm glad I listened :) Embark on my journey through Valisthea with me on KZread or live on Twitch at: / itsjavachip

Looking forward to many more plathroughs hopefully in the future! p.s. Dion jumping in front of Joshua killed me too. What an amazingly well written character. ❤

I have a feeling Clive was the one who wrote the book. I remember there was a side quest where Harpocrates tells clive that he should write a book about his adventures, and Clive basically says perhaps someday he will. Harpocrates naturally responds that he would like to read it.

That is how I feel too. Cid continued to live after his hand was turning to stone. Clive writes with his right hand and casts magick with his left, so he could have written the book. As far as Jill crying at the end, I think its a combination of things. She could probably feels Joshuas death, but also feeling Clive still alive. Her wish was for Clive to save himself, and Metia going dark could be a sign her wish was granted. She has a very bittersweet cry at the end knowing someone very close had died, but the world is now a better place for it.

Wonderful! Absolutely heart-wrenching. Clive's integrity and sacrifice are all really touching -- where it'd be so much easier to give up over and over but strength comes from adversity. Reminds me of that poem by Rumi: “I said: what about my eyes? He said: Keep them on the road. I said: What about my passion? He said: Keep it burning. I said: What about my heart? He said: Tell me what you hold inside it? I said: Pain and sorrow. He said: Stay with it. The wound is the place where the Light enters you.”

I see some comments that some people think anyone who thinks they're alive is just trying to cope or deny the ending or its 'power' in killing everyone. But I've played this game twice and read all the lore and there are just too many lines and moments that point to them being alive for me to just shrug them off as dead. You can find all the evidence and theory videos if you want to catch anything you missed and decide what ending makes the most sense to you with the evidence in hand. Just be careful folks with ascribing psychological issues to people who disagree with you. People thinking they all lived aren't just in denial, any more than people who insist they all died aren't just edgelords that want the melodrama. We each have the right to look at the evidence and honestly interpret it. Thanks so much for the amazing playthrough, I found you through this game and I look forward to seeing what else you do. Great job!

@@andy-utop You can have your own opinion of the evidence, but neither conclusion is unsupported. Saying that someone is 'coping' because their conclusion differs from yours is claiming that their conclusion isn't based on evidence, which is disrespectful. Some of the comments are suggesting that the only way to conclude that any of them lived is people in denial or just trying to create a happy ending where it doesn't exist, and that's just not fair. If you think they died, that's fine - but judging other people's conclusions, or attributing their conclusions to something other than the evidence as they see it, is just arrogance. Disagreement is good. The stance of assuming that people who disagree can't be doing so based on their experience of the game isn't.

The biggest theory with the ending of the game is that of the baby being born at the end or Medicine girl. Out of all of the Dominants only one never turned up, Leviathan, which has lead many to speculate a dlc could take place where this Dominant returns who can posses healing or rejuvenation powers. When Dion was injured Medicine Girl gave Dion fresh water from unique river, a river of fresh water which in many FF games Leviathan have been known to originate from. As to who’s this dominant or who’s it going to awake from, is left to theory. All in all. Fantastic run, you genuinely have been the funnest Playthrough I’ve seen in a game in a long time. Cheers. Seeing Jill cry made me tear up really, really bad on my first playthrough. But even on the second I was crying from the inside. The ending looked more like a happy ending close to the credits because when the sun came up, Jill started to smile for a couple seconds, and even the book made me confirm more that Clive is actually alive. On the other hand there is still our lost Eikon: Leviathan (Jote). In case you can build up a scenario of her finding Clive close to completely turn into stone but her coming for the rescue with her holy water to cure Clive. I mean I was literally watching the credits of my own playthrough when YT notified me you uploaded this. And because I hadn't suffered enough, I watched your playthrough of the endgame directly afterwards. It's so hard to say how I feel about this game right now because I love a story that can get you that invested. Everything about this game had me hooked from start to finish and I absolutely loved it, however, I also feel like I've been traumatized now too. My heart was aching; my eyes were red and irritated from tears. As much as I liked playing it, this is probably one Final Fantasy game I'm not sure I could handle a second playthrough. There have been a few tragedies in FF stories, but nothing like this. It's amazing and depressing all at the same time.

Loved your playthrough! Going to stick for more content :) I'm not a big FF guy but FF16 blew me away. In one of the ff16 interviews Yoshida said: "I think a good script is something that doesn't give all the answers at the end. It invokes a lot of feelings. It makes people think... it leaves a little bit of doubt there at the end. You're going to have finality in the main beats of the story, and you're going to get those answers. But there's always going to be that door left open a little bit to get people thinking." For me personally - I find evidence pointing to Clive surviving pretty convincing. Such high value side quest with this choice of words put right before the final mission and then the way "sunrise" scene is played out is 100% intentional.

Here's a TLDR for ya! As a long-time FF fan: been playing since I was around 5-6yrs old, have played every title since and it's franchise that got me into JRPGs in general, it's heartwarming to not only see a first-timer's reaction to FF16, but to see how much you truly enjoyed this. I hope your enjoyment on this will encourage you to try out some of the older ones! After getting my 100%/Platinum, I started watching some streamers reactions. You had my favourite reaction for a lot of the scenes by far. You're so emotional and just seeing you get so into the story was such a joy to see. I do admit, I did skip a lot of the minor sidequests while watching, but I did watch some of the heavy hitters mid/end game.16 is absolutely not without it's flaws as you've pointed out, but despite it's flaws, it's now my #1 fav FF. FF10 is good! A lot of people's favourites, but it's honestly halfway down my list. 16, 13 Trilogy, 6, 4, 9 or 15 are my top 5. I switch between 9/15 a lot as 5th place. P.S. One of my fav small FF moments: Enterprise! That's the name of FF4's airship made by Cid Harpocrates quests - Quill Pen. Clive wrote the book taking Joshua's name. There's no way Joshua would know how the fight w/ Ultima/Ultimalius would have gone as he was passed out. Joshua's dead. Dion MAY be alive. -> Torgal's howl, as opposed to a cry (like he did with Cid) -> Metia's fading is because magick is now gone from the world. Not Clive fading away. -> The sun rising: you can see Jill's tears turn into a smile. In her last sidequest, she says "When dawn rises, I know you'll always come back to me" -> Clive also narrated the story (Beginning & end. It's his voice) -> The Platinum Trophy is named "The Chronicler" Etc. etc. But, it's all up to interpretation. I'll choose to believe he's alive :)

  • @bob-genghiskahn
    @bob-genghiskahn11 ай бұрын

I've been continously surprised that people see the ending as open to interpretation and that our main boys are still alive. For them to be alive at the end would ruin one of if not the main theme of the game, to live and die on your own terms. Clive, Joshua, and Dion took on Ultima knowing they would almost certainly die. In the end they gave their lives in order to create the world they want, knowing that they won't to get to live in it. The one "positive" of the situation though is they each fought and died on their own terms. Clive even declares in the face of his own death: "these are our terms". The post-credits to me is just there to convey to us the audience that yes, our lovable heroes did succeed in their mission to create a world without magic. I'm pretty sure we see Joshua scribbling in a book at some point in the story, so I figured he handed it off to Jote (or someone) just before they left. Maybe she or someone else filled in the ending afterwards? Not sure. I guess in the spirit of conversation then, this all is just my interpretation. I'm really not trying to be mean here but I do think alot of the theories about one or all of them being alive stems from the various ways we react to death. Losing these characters often feels like loosing a loved one. Alot of the "alive" theories have a bit of a bargaining vibe to them but that could just be me reading into it wrong.

  • @itsjavachip

    @itsjavachip

I know what you mean, my original interpretation is in line with yours, I think it thematically makes sense as crushing as it is. I do see evidence supporting the Clive is still alive though!

I would suggest that though Cid’s original plan was for a place to die on your own terms, Clive’s was instead to live on your own terms. The more salient theme in the game is actually Cid, Jill and Joshua all at one point telling Clive to save himself. I would argue that it would not be out of keeping of the themes at all for Clive to survive

I don't think Clive being alive would ruin the theme. The main theme of the game is fate and deciding your own fate instead of adhering to the "pre-determined" for you. Clive destroying the crystal and fully destroying the exact thing which decided his fate in addition to the other dominants and bearers is in line with that theme regardless of whether he lives or dies. Clive's overall goal is to create a world where people can live on their own terms and destroying the crystal is also in line with that whether he lives or dies. I don't see the alive theories as bargaining but just based on subtext within the game. Hippocrates saying Clive should write a book and then Clive being the one that narrates the beginning and end of the game for example. The star fulfilling Jill's after saying she knew Clive would always be there when dawn broke and the last shot being dawn breaking as another example. Those all could be wrong of course but it's not like there's no basis for them. One of my thoughts on why Clive could have lived is because he didn't petrify all the way the instant he used all his power. If he had the power of all the dominants and Ultimas, wouldn't using that amount of immense magic all at once petrify him right away? I think it's also not unrealistic for Clive to write a book under Joshua's name to keep his name alive. Joshua being alive still wouldn't ruin the theme, but I think it would take away the narrative impact of his sacrifice. I think Joshua becoming Clive's shield just like Clive was for him as his last act has a lot more emotional impact if he dies. It would also take away the impact of the flashbacks.

I've been quietly watching this playthrough after I finished my own, and I have loved getting to know you throughout this game! You have such a loveable energy, and I'm definitely going to check out some of the other games you have played! Thank you so much for taking us on this journey with you. ((And I'm team-Clive lives! He is the one who coined the "final fantasy" line in the game and was the only other person around to hear it, so it makes sense that he might use it for a title for his novel :D))

Of course!!! You have such a lovely personality and I’m so looking forward to watching you more!! And yes - after all, Clive’s whole story arc was about him learning to live for himself, so if he lives, he would get to do that. I’d be “fine” if he didn’t, as that would also make for a fair story ending, but just based on his character development, as well as all the side-missions…I can’t help but feel that he is alive!!! ❤

What a game! So many epic and fantastic scenes in this one. I will probably remember scenes like walking the sea floor the at the Naldia Narrow or the Phoenix drifting around the blooming crystal at the Twinside forever. Also Dion is my favourite character in the whole game. Fingers crossed for a DLC. :)

Well this finale broke me and left me in tears, because it speaks to so many difficult themes that also apply to real life. But still, Clive is also a character about love for humanity, hope, and determination. And so the ending was sad but also inspiring. It’s the most complete story that has ever been done in a final fantasy game, and I applaud Yoshi P for making a story that has everything from A-Z.

It was beautiful watching someone else living it with the same great passion I felt during the game. Really It'sjava. Thank you. And you'll find me here again as soon as there will be another game with a great story ( maybe a DLC with Jill, metia and the medicine girl mistery?...Who knows).. Can't wait. Lots of people didn’t notice that there was one Eikon that never appeared in the game. Leviathan. It’s rumored that it is either the medicine girl because she specializes in healing and also comes from the family that would produce the dominant of leviathan. Or the widows baby that we saw at the end, due to her being resistant to turning akachic. It’s stated in the game that the baby was a bearer, but it’s also very possible that it could be a dominant. As much as I want to believe that it’s the medicine girl, strong evidence pointed towards it being the widow’s baby, albeit he only would’ve been a dominant for 5 minutes due to Clive killing Ultima and eliminating all sources of magic from the world😂😂😂.(I’d be mad and happy at the same time if I were a dominant and lost my powers in that way lol) There’s a good chance we’ll get Leviathan DLC featuring Cid as the main or just DLC for Cids backstory according to the rumors. Also, dominants don’t lose their powers after Clive copies it for himself. Everyone was still very clearly able to fully prime afterwards. People who are less skilled lose control of their Eikon. That’s the only side effect. Dion was one of the most skilled Eikon user(arguably only 2nd to Barnabus) so he was unaffected.

at the end it is implied that clive survived and wrote the book called final fantasy under joshua's name. If you remember the final side quest with harpocrates, he gives clive a pen and mentions that maybe one day he can hang up his sword and become a writer, forshadowing that final scene.

One of the recurring themes of the game is how Clive needs to learn to save himself, and if you did Jill's final quest, you will also see how she mentions she knows things get tough but she knows how he will always return to her once the dawn breaks and the sun rises, which is exactly how the game ended. Also, you were already told of the loresman's desire for Clive to write a book, and if you note it, Clive is the narrator of both the first lines in the game and the last ones too. One more thing, when you platinum the game, the last trophy you earn is called "The Chronicler", so the theory of Clive being alive and taking Joshue's name is very strong.

You're forgetting the existence of the Undying. Remember Cyril? "I am Cyril, Knight of the Undying, and bearer of the Burning Quill... ...charged with chronicling the mortal deeds of His Grace, Joshua Rosfield, Keeper of the Flame of the Phoenix... ...and rightful Archduke of Rosaria.". I feel like it's pretty obvious that it was Cyril and the Undying who chronicled the events Clive, Joshua and the Dominants. It is, quite literally, their duty when it comes to Joshua. Them crediting the author as Joshua makes sense when you consider this as they work from the shadows and the only thing they want to do is serve. But the ending is open ended enough that it can be interpreted more than one way, I suppose.

Oh also, totally agreed re: animation stuff. But I noticed a lot of those animations were straight up from their MMO final fantasy 14, which the producer/director of this game (Yoshi P. You'll hear his name a lot! Amazing guy) also runs. So it's like they have little emote animations that they can then plug into a character model to trigger with dialogue so that they can quickly build out content. When Yoshi P came in and cranked out this game in like 2/3 years (remember final fantasy 15 took ..... 15 years?) he used a lot of tools from 14 for efficiency's sake; minus the itemization and combat and all of that being completely different, the games actually play very very similar. The way the world is built into individual maps that are stitched together, the way you go from free reign to then beginning cinematic units of gameplay, the pacing and all of that.

The DLC or expansion for the game will be similar to X-2. Jill and the crew know Clive is still alive. Torgul howling shows he knows Clive is alive. Wolves howl to call back a pack member. Somehow they figure out the getting Clive home involves finding the lost Eikon Leviathan which will create a wave of sorts that Clive rides home. Then he writes the book in Joshua's name.

So I believe Clive lives. He's the only one who knows all the events from start to finish in such detail such as the final fight. He writes a book since he only lost his arm, pens it in Joshua's name. They both move to the continent and travel together. When the sun comes up she begins to smile. So as much as she lost his aether (like how he could tell she was alive when she was captured) she doesn't know for definite if he's dead. Alot of hints she was pregnant after the beach scene too. So they could have had a baby and called him Joshua, and it was he who wrote the book. But either way, if you've done all the side quests there's alot of hints he lives in the end.

Welcome to the fandom! FF is an anthology series as many may have told you already, so don't feel like you're missing out on everything if you don't play them all. A lot of the numbered entries' world settings may be inspired by medieval Europe like XVI's but there's some futuristic sci-fi, steampunk and present day thrown in, as well, to mix things up. One world setting that's unique to the series would have to be FFX's South Pacific island-style setting. Minus a couple of mandatory ice and snow levels (because video games), it's the JRPG equivalent of getting a fantasy tropical vacation fix when you're growing tired of the middle of winter. It was the last really turn-based entry in the series before the slow crawl into the action combat there is now in the most modern entries. I dug FFXV, too, and maybe you'd might feel more at home with that one as your next since FFXVI was your first. Like Clive, Noctis is a "royalty-in-exile" protagonist. The most basic premise of his story, however, is that he goes out on a summer bachelor party road trip and a lot of things go south for him on the way. Ha!

Whatever debates went on about this game, your genuine reaction shows how much you enjoyed the game and it really delighted me that someone just enjoyed the game as it is to the fullest and how the game manages to move people still. I hope the game be one of the most memorable for you. My interpretation of the ending is, whoever wrote that book (be it Joshua or someone else), Clive should be alive as the 'Final Fantasy' word did not come out until Ultima's battle, and only Clive alone knows about it. It is heavily implied the battle went on in Clive's head too, on top of it. I have been enjoying your thoughts about every scene as well. Thank you very much for playing the game. My 5 cents despite being fine with Clive dying. The way the ending played out makes it pretty much clear that Clive sacrificed himself, makes sense from a narrative point of view, but I do believe its supposed to be an open ending for those who pay attention. Clive turning to stone is obviously implied and the logical outcome but its kinda bugging me. In that very moment when the camera panned away, magic started to slowly disappear from the world (Metia was gone) so without magic there should be no curse anymore and it should stop at his hand. Also im not sure how Jill knew that Clive died. Metia isn't tied to his life force, its just a wishing star so its more likely she lost hope. On top of that she couldn't feel his presence anymore not because he died but because they all lost their powers. After the Phoenix Gate incident Clive was also proclaimed dead, and back then Jill also believed in him coming back after seeing flower petals in the rising sun - a parallel to the final shot before credits. Its not a 50/50 coin flip open ending, he's very likely dead but there's a hope for those who want to believe. That's why YoshiP himself said its a hopeful ending, not just for the now magic-less world but for Jill too as she smiles at the dawn. Someone had to write the book. Either Joshua himself, or Clive who pulled a Cid with Joshua's name. We'll never find out. And it kinda sucks, I hate loose ends and ambigious finales.

"Someone had to write the book". Yep, that would be the Undying, remember them? Not a lot of people do so I don't blame you. "I am Cyril, Knight of the Undying, and bearer of the Burning Quill... ...charged with chronicling the mortal deeds of His Grace, Joshua Rosfield, Keeper of the Flame of the Phoenix... ...and rightful Archduke of Rosaria.". It was more than likely Cyril and the Undying that wrote the book as it is their duty to chronicle the deeds of Joshua. But seeing as they don't care for fame or glory and only want to serve then it makes sense they credited Joshua, the one they serve, as the author.

This is gonna sound similar to a comment I made on your video of the Barnabas fight, but there's a great thematic touch they add to the sequences where Clive and Ultima attack one another with each Eikon's power that I don't know if any person I've watched play this game has brought up. When Ultima calls upon those individual powers, he always refers to them by their utility. Levin untamed (levin being another word for thunderbolt), ice unfeeling, light undying, etc.. All he cares about when it comes to the Eikons are their powers, nothing more. However, when Clive calls upon them, he actually refers to them by their name as if he's asking for their assistance the way you would with an ally or friend. Given that the big difference between Clive and Ultima is that Clive uses his connections with others to reinforce his will while Ultima sees himself as too above everyone else to form bonds with them, it's a small, but meaningful, little detail that helps reinforce their characters and motivations. Really well written game.

This is for peoples peace of mind: Clive survives Clive does in fact survive at the end of Final Fantasy. Here is my rundown of the last events in the game: 1) Clive beats Ultimate and absorbs his power. 2) Clive returns to the real world and tries to resurrect Joshua. Clive heals Joshuas body, but as it was already stated, the Phoenix can only mend flesh and not the spirit. So while Clive is able to heal Joshuas body, Joshua has been dead for too long at that point and his spirit is gone. 3) Clive uses all of his new found power to destroy Ultimas last crystal and destroy magic for good. In process Joshuas body is destroyed as well (so Joshua couldn't have survived and written the book in the end). 4) Clive survives the destruction of the platform and swims back to a beach, where we see him attempting to cast a spell, but failing. Magic is gone for good. His arm has been calcified. Clive does not die from his hand being calcified. That calcification spreads the more non-Dominant Bearers use magic. We've seen affected Bearers with both of their arms and legs calcified still clinging on to dear life. 5) He looks at the Moon from the beach as does Jill from the Hideout. She starts crying, because she is concerned, but as soon as the sun rises she stops. Prior to the final battle and during their last quest together she tells Clive about how he had faith. She knew that no matter how dark the night got, the sun would always come up. That Clive was her sun and that he would always come back to her. 6) Off-screen Clive returns to Jill and they live happily ever after. (I really wish we would have seen all of this). 7) Many, many generations later we see two kids at a house playing. One of the kids uses stones to make fire for supper. Magic is gone. It's a myth at this point even. They continue playing and using the names of the characters they've read in a book in the house. The older brother is playing Ifrit, the younger the Phoenix and their dog is Bahamut. The name of the book is Final Fantasy and it's the biggest giveaway that Clive is still at the end. Even besides the fact that we hear him narrating the end before that scene. During his last fight with Ultima they talk about fantasies and Clive specifically makes argument by using fantasy and final in his sentences. So he would have been the only one who could have named that particular book that way. I assume that he writes it under Joshuas name in order to - honor his fallen brother, who saved him and... Cid / Clive was a known outlaw, so that guy writing a book probably wouldn't have been that profitable. Also, on top of that, during a side quest Clive tells Sohocrates (or whatever that old guys name is) that once he is done swinging his sword, he will pick up a pen and write a book about his adventures.

I didn’t get to watch all of the playthrough, but I caught up with a good amount through your YT uploads and 👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼 I’m stunned by how well and fully articulated your thoughts were during the end credits because I needed about a week to process it all. That said, deeply (edit) AGREE with just about everything you said. Gonna need to check out some of your other playthroughs like GOW:R and can’t wait for FF7 Remake down the line.

Wow I'm surprised you disagree so deeply! But that's also what I love about gaming and about story driven games like this - we don't all have the same thoughts and experiences and I think that's beautiful in the end! Glad to hear I was well and beautifully articulating my thoughts, but even with a little time away from it I've rethought a couple of things, not much though mainly just about Clive's fate

@@itsjavachip OMG I can’t believe I said “disagree” haha. It was late at night. I meant to say “deeply agree” 🤦🏻‍♂️ I really agreed with all of your points. In fact, many of the points you made were things that didn’t come as clearly to me until after I thought about it for at least a couple of days. That’s why I was stunned by how you were able to articulate it in the moment.

I think Clive lives! We only see his hand turn to stone. Lots of side quests hint at him writing a book when all is over. I think he wrote the story in Joshua’s memory. Too many little hints at the book writing think throughout the game.

I have a theory when clive heals joshuas chest but they dont show him come to life but instead shows clive dying on the beach but the book was written by Joshua which either means he wrote it prior or hes alive. Does anyone know what's canon?

See it says Joshua wrote the book but Joshua is dead it says throughout the game that the phoenix can bring ppl back from dead also there is a theory that Clive wrote the book

Btw. Clive’s not dead. He wrote the book at the end (he honored his brother just like with Cid by getting his name). If you’ve played the side quests and followed the story closely, you know. They’ve planted the seeds for everything but you need to be very focused on dialogues and everything to get the maximum from the ending. Clive’s the only one that knows the whole story.

Most likely Clive survived, because both Sid and Jill lived with stone hands, so they wore gloves on one hand, and Clive wrote a book indicating the author of his brother.

They have announced DLC coming for FF 16. I am hoping the DLC follows what was going on with Cid in those 13 years before he met Clive. I would love to play as him and the story could be about his falling out with Benedicta and Barnabas and how he started the first Hideaway.

Reasons to believe Clive survived: -The game begins and ends on Clives narration, as if he is reading a story... one only he would be able to tell. - Clive and Harpocrates speak of how Clive likes stories and wishes to write after all is said and done. - Clives left hand turns to stone, as it is the one he casts magick with. He writes with his right hand, so he could have written the book. - The author of the book is "Joshua Rosfield", but we know Clive took on Cids name to honor him, why would he not honor his brother the same way? - Jill prays to Metia (the small moon) for Clives safe return. In the end, the moon goes dark, which could signal her wish coming true. She has a bittersweet cry, likely knowing Clive save the world, and himself, but she also feels the death of Joshua.

I think Clive wrote it if anything he is literally the only person that could of tbh and he is also the narrator of the story so I think the book reflects the story we play Clive probably just used josh name it can’t be jote because she was absent from all the major events Clive is the only person that could of told this story my theory is he only lost his hand and made it back to Jill and wrote a book they also imply multiple times he likes story books he also like books about gods fighting each other he liked plays as well most likely Clive is the true author of the book he is the only person that could of did it and he also expressed how that’s what he wanted to do after he saved the world so I think he just lost a hand also we seen multiple people with limbs that are stone and are still living every day working life for example in a side quest u see some one with a whole foot all the way up to there knee covered in stone or a hand we even saw some one who had their whole body covered except for their face so IF it only stopped at his hand he’s still alive and could still very much live a full life with Jill ofc

love your reaction to this adventure. no he didn´t turn into stone you can see how the curse stop in his hand also many other like Cid for example survive ith much worse like with whole arm turn into stone, and about the book you can see Joshua having a book that he was writing he sho it on the scene where he found the complete mural before we fought Odin, he even had drawns of all eikons on it, the ending just sho that they achieve on saving the world and now their adventures are legend, like the ones Clive used to read when he was little those about gods vs humans, and we saw that those legends where true during the adventure we saw all the remains of flying ships arround the world and the big waterfal crater... i don´t kno if clive survive but... i like to belive that he deserve a happy endig with Jill

My personal reflection is that Dion died and Joshua/Clive survived to write a book together. With the writer leaving things open to interpretation, that is my personal cannon accepted ending. However, I love exploring fanfiction that paint other's opportunities good or bad (I refuse dead dove wholeheartedly). Jill also smiled at the dawn, so I fully think Clive is alive with a hand or arm missing.
