Wow, thank you for sharing! It's so interesting because I introduced the top allergens to my daughter in a baby oatmeal (ready, set, food) and she freaked out when it touched her mouth/tongue! She did not want to have anything to do with it. Her lip ended up swelling up. We saw the allergist a few weeks later, did allergy blood testing, and she is allergic to peanuts, tree nuts, sesame and a bunch of other stuff. So crazy how some babies just immediately refuse the foods they cannot tolerate.

I find comfort that I am not the only one with a child that has peanut allergy. I habe became a label pro lol. I am shocked at the panda with peanut powder. We have panda and chinese all the time lol. People think its so hard or different but honestly its become so easy to live with my baby peanut allergy. I am getting my almost 3 year old tested I want to know how much she is allergic to peanuts just so I can be aware. Thank you for this video. I love how smart luxi is you are a great mama!! Love you!

Long time lurker, first time commenter here. I love your content, this one hit close to my heart. My little toddler has peanut and tree nut allergies too! We had pretty much the same experience, except that my girl had eaten peanuts probably at least a dozen times before she developed her allergy at 10mo. She had anaphylaxis. She now gets routinely tested every year, and this year she was able to add almonds back into her diet after an oral challenge test. It is very difficult. People don’t take it as seriously as they should. I’ve had people “offended” that I don’t let my child eat food that they want to give her. I’m very strict as to what I’ll allow her to eat outside of our home, and I’m not sorry about it. I’m really glad you made this video to spread awareness! I’m going to show it to family and friends.

Hi Chelsea! Thank you for taking the time to comment, and for supporting my channel ❤️ I’m sorry to hear that she has a peanut and tree nut allergy! Oh my gosh I’m glad she’s okay now after experiencing anaphylaxis 😢 I looked into doing the peanut therapy with my daughter but my insurance won’t cover it and it’s over 1k a week. 😞 hopefully the therapy takes off so it can be more affordable. I have also had people offended by that and I don’t care. It’s for the well being of my baby! I hope that your friends and family watch so they can see how serious it really is! ❤️ hugs and thank you for being a long time lurker 😉

@@MamaTried Yeah, I'd be excited to do the peanut therapy as well! I think they aren't even a candidate until like 4 or 5 years old. The oral challenge test isn't the same, it is basically when their allergy test numbers go down below a certain threshold, then to be 100% sure the dr gives the child the allergen to eat in increasing doses every 20 mins for a couple hours. If there is no reaction, then the child is cleared to add that back into the diet. Some allergists don't offer this at all. But maybe it could be an option for Luxi in the future if her numbers go down. Best of luck to y'all with this, I know its difficult. And keep up the good work, you really do a great job. I love watching your videos.

There’s a place in Dallas that does it as early as 2! My pediatrician talked to us about how you are doing it but said we should probably wait because she is too high risk. Severe allergies are just so scary because you never know what to expect! Thank you so much for the support ❤️

My 9mo son had peanut butter once on pancakes and he loved it. He had it the second time last Saturday and he didn’t even want it (which he loves food as well) so I was surprised. Once he started eating it he started getting hives around his mouth and eyes. I took him out and decided to take him to the E.R which was 6 mins away. He cried in and car and by the time we got there, his whole face was swollen. They waited a little bit and then ended up giving him an epi, Benadryl and some steroids at once. I’m terrified of peanut allergies honestly. I have family members who don’t think allergies are a big deal and think you can “naturally heal” certain things and just don’t have the sense to be mindful of allergies. I’m used to reading nutrition labels because I was super into ingredients when my daughter started eating table foods. So I’ve started looking at ingredients since he had his reaction. But I’m entirely unsure about where to eat out and don’t trust others to care or understand the severity or cross contamination. This video has helped a lot and I’m happy that you posted it.

Not to scare you or compare at all but my daughter was the same way and also had eczema which are all signs of a possible peanut/ tree nut allergy. When trying peanuts/ peanut butter I would do it in the ER parking lot if you can just in case. ❤️ I wish I would have known those were all signs of a possible allergy but I had no idea until it happened to us. 😞

My son was 7 months old and had had peanut butter 4 times before without a reaction. The 5th time, his entire face swelled up and we raced him to the clinic. Benadryl made it go down. Almost a year later, we started a desensitization program with an allergist. My son is a month older than Luxi and after this program, he can now have the equivalent of 3 peanuts with no reaction. This was through a slow increase of peanut powder every month. We just repeated blood work last month and his allergy level has been cut in half. While he'll never be "cured", I wanted to let others know that it is possible to remove the severe reactions to peanuts through a program like this. He'll need to have peanuts every day to keep the allergy from increasing again. Of course it depends on severity and if it's ingestion, smell, etc that sets it off. A note on peanut oil, not ALL peanut oils are refined, so some may not be safe. Check with your allergist first.

I want to get Luxi into a program like that. Unfortunately the only place around me that does it is an hour away and is over $1,000 a week. 😩 I love that you are seeing success with the program!! ❤️ it gives me hope for the future.

It all depends on the severity of the allergy. I had my daughter allergy tested for the most common food allergies and allergens in the area and it told me how her blood reacted which was a good indicator of the severity.
