Hello! Currently a senior in high school deciding between whether I want to do art for a living or work with animals and do art for a side hobby. I’m a vegan, just wanted to say the agriculture industry can be a very dark place. I would recommend straying away from that. I didn’t know about the veterinarian assistant however! I might have to look into that it sounds very interesting, thanks : )

I'm a junior and I'm debating between the exact same things!! I really love art and I'm very passionate about it, but I'm not sure if I'd be able to make a stable living off of it. So I've been looking into jobs that work with animals :)

Austin's Awesome Adventures that’s what i was thinking but the only thing i’ve gotten to do so far is volunteering at a cat shelter and then also working at a dog shelter for like 3 days as my first job. is it really helpful?

@@qpidslip9991 from what i was told yes it's a good start. Im 23 and still pushing lickily i got experience working with plants for a couple weeks at robinson nature center in howard county and thus far i haven't used that yet but will in do time

Yeah exactly or maybe you know be someone who helps them go back into the wild after they've been injured by humans or something

do you know what type of degree you need to go into the conservation/rehabilitation field? i really want to work with helping animals, but i don’t want to become a veterinarian or study too much biology (i have good grades in science but i still find it a very challenging subject, despite it not being close to university level). i’m thinking of taking a gap year after high school to get a job and then go volunteer in sanctuaries abroad (either africa or australia), would that be considered good experience you think?

Is there any careers involving butterflies that don't require such high education such as doctors or masters?

Yes there is :) All over the world, there are insectariums that have butterfly rooms. I'm sure that you could get a job as a keeper at one of those facilities with minimal education (maximum a bachelors degree). There are also companies that specialize in giving educational presentations to elementary students. Getting a job with a company like that would involve working with butterflies and some other small animals. Hope this helps!
