    At my local Half Price Books Outlet, I found Mario Kart Double Dash complete for $17.99, back in 2018. At the time, I didn’t have a GameCube or Backward Compatible Wii, so I passed up on it. I’m still kicking my self for that.

    Some people feel that the Wii doesn't give the best clarity. But Imo it's only if you put them side by side. Gamecube just looks cooler but otherwise if you already have a Wii then it does the trick.

    This starters guide was really helpful! Picking up a GameCube today from my friend who's giving it to me, his reset button is stuck down, but It's definitely something I could figure out to fix. It's also the rarest and best color for US GameCubes, Platinum. Idk if it's the later model which takes away one of the three ports on the bottom, no component cables, and has a better laser, but either way I will actually get the Gamboy Player, as I don't have any of the Gameboy handhelds and would like to play the games off the big screen.

  • @VioletNul

    @VioletNul

    4 ай бұрын

    @Frank-sp7vu Platinum GameCube models were actually produced until the Gamecube's end of life which was from 2002 to 2007. But there are two versions of the platinum color, one the Analog AV out and Digital AV out and one with Analog AV only which was made in 2004. You are correct about the later platinum model having no component, but the one with the component input is the more rarer of the two since it was produced from 2002 to 2004. So I guess you could say the original "Limited Edition" Platinum is actually limited.

    Can you explain the Swiss thing a bit more when using the Action Replay? I bought an Action Replay and an extra memory card so I can play a few Japanese GameCube games that never came over to America. I'm not looking for any mods with the games, just simply play them. Do I need that Swiss software as well? I always thought that you put in the disc, turn the GameCube on, then swap out the disc with the game you wanted to play. Is there more to it than that?

  • @SuperNicktendo

    @SuperNicktendo

    Жыл бұрын

    Swiss can do what Action Replay does, it's just a smoother interface and when you're playing backups off the SD card like with the GCloader, it just boots into whatever region you need. If you're just doing the disc swap method with the Action Replay, Swiss isn't necessary. But if you want to launch homebrew with the Action Replay like the Gameboy interface for example, you can get a SD card memory card, load it with the proper software and the Action Replay will see it and launch what you need. It comes in handy if you want to use the Gameboy Player with more features than the boot disc. Or if you don't want to pay the obscene amount of money.

    I own a Spice Orange and a Platinum GC, both with matching color GBA Players. Both have PicoBoot and SP2SD mods. The orange one has an internal HDMI mod and the other I use the Kaico Labs Digital AV to HDMI. As much as I love them, GC games look best on a modded Wii U. I also have an internal HDMI modded Wii but for GC games, a Wii U is best. Once you use widescreen hacks, many games are as close to remasters as they will ever be.
